Minato is a Namikaze, and there is no clear connection to the Senju there. The only evidence would be during the Uchiha rebellion when they were talking about Konoha always being ruled by the Senju, but again that isn't very concrete.

Naruto is Senju because his mother is Kushina Uzumaki. Uzumaki's are close descendants of the Senju.

My opinion is that;

Minato's mother was from Senju clan but his father was a Namikaze. That's why they call him Namikaze Minato. So people who don't count on maternal bloodline ignore it.
On the other hand they call Naruto an Uzumaki, so the same may be right about Minato but I think thay have given Naruto his mothers name to keep his mind away being yondaime's son.

some theories exist that minato is the second hokage grandson or a relative.

It would make sense imo.
They both touch the ground with their finger to sense where enemies are.
They both use spacetimejutsu (only known users who use it without sharingan).
They have similar hairstyle, style and attitude.
They both use thundergod as a name for their jutsu. Flying thundergod and the sword of the thundergod (latter being an anime sword of tobirama).

Tobirama would have had a daughter who married a namikaze.
