Why is so much attention thrown on Kagami?

In my opinion he should be given no attention at all. He was literally in one flashback scene and he was just there. He is no different from the other random Uchihas they have shown in the background or the other characters there were in the background. Just because he is Uchiha people think he is Tobi. The Ramen guy and Tazuna's grandson have literally done more than 20x for the plot than Kagami has. Why do people care so much about some random guy in the background of a flashback?

we didnt see more than half the village during the kyuubi attack. and the reason theres no closure on what happened to him is because he was just in the background. they wouldnt explain how some random guy in the background of a flashback died

I personally don't like the idea of Kagami being Tobi either but people have other opinions you know. Kishi has a thing for Uchihas, he could literally pull a name out of his ass and add "Uchiha" to it to reveal Tobi.

Unless he is Tobi yep you're right. But this possibility of him being alive and basically being an old Uchiha who had powerful connections very relevant to the story is something that fuels people to discuss Kagami as a strong candidate for who Tobi is.

Well, its more like if Tobi is a character with an unkown background then maybe kishi glimpsed that with Kagami. Also some things fit like, if he is as the same age as danzo (which kagami was) it explains his comment to him when he died and why he would want sasuke to kille those people since they were his former team and also his name tobi comes from kagamis mentor. Tobirama.
Also the name kagami means mirror and tobi dousnt care about his name and is more like a reflection. sort of.
And in the brief sight of his face it looks like he has the same age as danzo. Its more likely kagami is tobi then the other way around i guess, but uts more likely tobi is kagami then others if you ask me.

Uchiha in a team with tobirama (that team had hokage candidates in it).
That is pretty damm close to being hokage and quite different from your average background uchiha or ramen guy.

I am not saying that i think that tobi is kagami, but he is a lot more than a flashback character.
