Gaara and Hashirama in the same league?

Well, I was reading Gaaras fight with Kimmimaro and the sand wave he made was huge, and it changed the environment very quickly. Hashirama does the same with similar attacks but with different material. They both have large chakra pools, great offense/defense and strong ninjutsu.


Are they in the same league? If not what separates the two? (besides hype)

Common sense issomething that comes natural, but when it comes to Naruto fights you have to compare abilities. It would be Ironic if I had compared Kimmimaro to Hashirama, but Gaara is pretty good with similar abilities.

they may have similar abilities indeed, but hashirama's attacks are on a whole different scale... plus he has his regeneration techinque with no handseals so.. nopexd, i think gaara needs to get somewhat stronger if he wants to beat the 1st

I agree with you. People give Hashirama too much hype. We haven't seen what he can do! He got beaten by Kakuzu, who wasn't even that good (in comparison, don't get me wrong, he was pretty strong.) Gaara isn't the best, but I'd say he has a fair shot going up against Hashirama.

Well in my opinion Mokuton is much more versatile. The fact that it creates instead of simply manipulates the environment has a lot of perks when need be. Tracker seeds... making houses out of nothing... conjuring flowers that produce sleep-inducing pollen.. chakra suppressing abilities.. I mean you can see where people would find Mokuton better than Gaara's sand manipulation.

Hashirama may be a lot of hype but I'm pretty sure it's not baseless. We've known for a long time now that the Uchiha and Senju were the big bad clans, and Hashirama was the proclaimed leader of one of these. Hashirama has awesome medical abilities too.. which makes him a good fighter as well as a medic. It's extremely possible that Hashirama was good at sealing jutsu as well.

Oh did I forget that Hashirama has genjutsu as well? My bad

I completely agree with you. I think only 2 things separate these 2: hype and experience. On a scale, if anyone says hashis is better the are a fanboy. Look:

Hashi can instantly create forests-Gaara can instantly create deserts
Hashi doesnt use normal trees-Gaara doesnt use normal sand(chakra infused)
Hasi can insta rengenerate-Gaara has sand armor he can instantly repair..=
Hashi has large chakra pool-Gaara has large chakra pool
hashis trees vs gaaras sand? No one really knows...they are both special and chakra infused. All hashi has over gaara is hype and exp.
