Mei Terumi Analysis

Being a fan of Mei's, I would really like to give Mei a 5 for ninjutsu...

BUT, IMO her Lava and Vapour release kekkei genkai (though very offensive) are much too one-dimensional! I mean, all she does is spew them out of her mouth; she can't manipulate them in any other way (like how water or fire can be manipulated into different forms, like dragons).

Think about it! How cool would it be if she could do a Yoton dragon jutsu, or a Vapour style Tajuun Bunshin no jutsu?

I don't think having good nature manipulation is essential for having a 5 in ninjutsu. Kakuzu has a 5 in ninjutsu but all he does is shoot out elemental blasts. Even Hidan has a 5 and he only has 1 jutsu...

Mei's usage of 5 natures - boil, lava, water, earth and fire release is enough to give her a 5. Also, she can manipulate water into the form of a dragon. She might be able to do similar things with her other jutsu, the thing is we haven't seen all of her jutsu so we can't judge for sure.

It's just I feel that Mei's proficiency at using Lava Release really pales in comparison to the other Lava release users (like Dodai)? For a Kage, she ought to be more versatile...

Water Pillar is an excellent defensive move. Took out Madara's Katon which previously took several normal water users to counter

I honestly think Mei is unreasonably underrated. She is much more powerful than people make her out to be.

My guess on her stats shall be this.

nin: 5, tai: 3.5, gen: 3, intelligence: 4.5, strength: 3.5, speed: 4, stamina: 4, hand seals: 5 = total of 31.5

Yours and mine are pretty similar...

HOWEVER, I think Databook statistics are very flawed. There are characters with 5's in ninjutsu who's ninjutsu abilities don't come near her I'm certain. Honestly, Mei is probably the number 3 or 4 best ninjutsu user of the manga. Maybe better. Her KKG's are WAYYY underrated, and she has huge techniques that would decimate so many characters. I could see her beating all of the other kages. She wouldn't every time, but it would be close against all of them.

I just think Raikage's speed and power combination is too much for the other Kage to handle. But Mei is great, and people do underestimate her KKG's, they think Vapor release can only be used in closed quarters, but i disagree. She could probably use like someone would use fireball jutsu. With the PH level high enough, it could burn the enemy before it disperses. (Much like a larger version of her breath on the Zetsu, it took it's head right off immediatly)

I'll give her some stats.

Ninjutsu: 5 (She has many elements and kkg and if Tsunade and Hidan get a 5, Mei gets one too)

Taijutsu: 3.5 (Although not her specialty, she was able to show some impressive feats against jounin level threats.)

Genjutsu: 3.5 (Just a guess but she probably has a defence against genjutsu seeing how the previous Mizukage got genjutsued so she'd be extra careful that something like that doesn't happen to her. She also probably has lots of knowledge when it comes to genjutsu.)

Stamina: 3.5 (She has fairly average stamina and did get tired towards the end of the Madara fight but she does use some fairly chakra taxing moves so I'll be generous.)

Speed: 3.5 (Tsunade got this score and I believe Tsunade is faster than Mei so I'm not giving her a 4.)

Intelligence: 4.5 (Mei seems pretty intelligent and because she is a kage, she must be very knowledgeable and experienced.)

Hand Seals: 4.5 (Just a guess but since she is a master at ninjutsu, her ability to use hand seals must be quite high.)

Strength: 4 (Temari got a 3.5 in strength and Mei should be stronger than her by a fair margin. Mei's punch was pretty strong and she can lift heavy objects.)

Overall: 32.0

100% focus on the tits, she's the only one who wants to give up on fighting Madara, she has barely contributed at all (she couldn't even douse his flames so Tsunade had to play human shield).

Her portrayal has been horrible since the beginning. She's just fan service, nothing more.

Personally I think Lava Release may still hold some tricks if Roshi can use Magma to such an extent. Plus the more I think about Acidic Mist, the more haxxed I realize it is. A shame she didn't get many 1vs1 fights (to be honest she didn't really get any legit 1vs1 fights at all).
