Orochimaru can beat Nagato

tht isnt something u can use really because while pain did have a healthy fight with naruto in 6 tail u have to understand tht orochimaru was fighting the 4tail @ half strength and with practically no arms and he found the fight very entertain also fighting to a standstill

Nagato had just got done destroying the whole village with a massive shinra tensei. A healthy and prime Nagato would rip almost anyone.

Good point, but what about the Hanzo fight? Also my basis relies on the fact that Nagato can negate practically all of Oro's attacks.

I don't think Oro can escape Chibaku tensei, and if Nagato lays one hand on him, it's game over regardless of rebirth since he'd be able to seal his soul away.

The most Oro could do is just keep tossing snakes at him, hoping to poison him? Idk? Or just use his sword to stab him. I don't ever recall any really impressive techniques with Oro aside for the 8 headed giant Snake when facing Itachi.

The most of I've seen, was Oro mostly relying on taijutsu or dodging everything. And taijutsu means getting close and physical to Nagato which risks sealing.

The most I can say about Oro is that he's really creepy and a genius, but not really the best fighter. I'm pretty sure Kabuto was a lot more powerful also imo.

well i really have to say fighting without edo tensei is a draw bak but the thing is with the thought of wat pervy sage said (wen he said oro was stronger than him) and then wat pain (had Jiraya know it was 6 of us he would have easily defeated us) i think oro has more than a fair chance

ok so i guess tht does make sense but power wise it was said tht oro is the strongest nin to ever leave the leaf and he is by far 1 of the most feared ninja and he may not be able to use alot of jutsu like u said but the fact is the few tht he does know is stronger than most of the jutsu tht we know

and also being the only man to ever c the grim reaper and live 2 tell the tale.......knowing oro he probable knows a thing or 2 how 2 stop sum1 from removing his soul

If he knew about how to stop someone from removing his soul, then he wouldn't have been sealed by the Totsuka blade Itachi used.

He was only feared because he has lots of info and is cunning. The world knew him but only the leaf feared him, just until the Akatsuki showed up.

How would he fair against Gedo Mazo?

Orochimaru could beat the 6 paths. With his many years of research, he probably knows the different powers of the paths. If he used edo tensei, things become much easier. He's just have to go after the path that revives stuff and the one that can take away peoples souls.

But fighting Nagato (six paths in one) is a whole different story and I doubt Orochimaru could beat him.

We've never seen Orochimaru fight seriously or at full strength, and Jiraiya said that he had never surpassed Oro but might be equal to him.
And Pain said that if Jiraiya had known Pein's secret before-hand, Jiraiya would've won. I think it comes down to if Orochimaru knows the secret of Pein before facing him.

Naruto only won because Hinata activated the Nine-tails inside of him. In a one on one fight using skills that they actually trained to have, not accidently got activated, Pain would have won.

Yeah, Orochimaru is more of somebody who escapes effectively rather than causes damage. I don't think he has much of a chance against Nagato because Nagato's techniques are far more powerful than Orochimaru's and there isn't really anything Orochimaru can actually do to kill Nagato. Oro's only great offensives are his destructive snake summons, that sword from his mouth and his poison but Nagato's summons match all of Orochimaru's summons, and although Orochimaru is cleverer, he does not possess the arsenal/firepower/abilities to do something about Nagato's weaknesses. If he had a few more very powerful non-physical moves with a wide scope like Jiraiya's Frog Song, he might be in with a chance.
