[Spoilers] Mangekyou Sharingan Eye Swap to Produce EMS?

I always thought about this a lot to. I wondering why they couldn't just swap eyes and both have EMS, but then after looking into it for a bit I understand why. If you go look at one of the pages when Itachi is explaining the EMS to Sasuke during their fight, in one panel there is this monster looking thing that appears behind Itachi, with four eye sockets. Two where the normal placement of eyes are, and two above those. Only the bottom pair had eyes in them, which would represent Itachi's eyes.

The pair above those would be the pair you need to put in to gain EMS, in this case, it would be Sasuke's eyes. Unless all four sockets are filled, the user can't get EMS. That is why you cannot just swap eyes, each brother would still only have two eyes, and not be able to fill in the four sockets.

Hindsight 20/20 here, I never noticed the Rinnegan above the 4 sharingan on Madara's statue.

If they both took them out, how could they see? How would they know where to put the eye? xd

On a more serious note, I don't think so, one would have sight and the other would be blind.

Btw, these people in Naruto take out eyes like nothing. You see Shisui? He was smiling, he has balls of steel lol.

They can do one eye at a time it's easy :shrug:

heres an idea,

A third uchiha member helps with the eye tranplant operation.


Frist he helps madara take izuna eyes to get ems. Then gets madara's ms eyes and gives them to izuna.


I dont see why it cant work both ways, but u will need a third persion at least to help the transfer. But this seems too broken, to be honest we know barely anything about ems ritual, anything is possible.

Even tobi transplanted itachi's ms to sasuke.

Either way actually u will need some1 to help u takes eyes out.

This actually could work into tobi = izuna theory


And I cant believe i didnt notice the rinnegan looking sysmbol in that ems statue. MInd blown

Yeah damn I didn't notice the Rinnegan on the statue either, and I posted the damn pic! That's crazy, makes perfect sense to now, since Madara gained the Rinnegan after he got the EMS...crazy, we could have figured out that the Rinnegan is a progression of the Sharingan a while ago, never noticed that until now.

That statue is also shown in a recent chapter btw. In the chapter where Danzo is talking to Itachi outside in a flashback page, he's talking to him about the Uchiha Massacre and how he can save Sasuke if he kills his clan. You can see that same statue in the background, has the four eyes and everything. I think it stands for something in actual Japanese mythology, I forgot what though.

Madara probably had some sort of rivalry with his brother, since they were equally strong, madara wanted to be superior , the best of the best and did not want to share his power with his brother so did not bother transplanting his eyes into him... there is absolutely no reason why they couldn't have swapped eyes, i also wonder,where are sasukes eyes? and if anyone transplants them will they get his abilities? albeit for a short amount of time before they go blind/

itachi was blind by the end of his fight with sasuke, those eyes were transplanted into sasuke and regained their light, there is no reason if they swapped eyes both sets of eyes wouldnt gain eternal light , i think its a bit of a plot hole that tends to imply one sibling has to stay blind
