Dying Kekkei Genkai Lines?

Are there some Kekkei Genkai (KKG) lines that are dying out?

It seems to me that the Mokuton bloodline of the Senju clan seems particularly rare, even amongst the clan members themselves (remember, we do not know of any other Senju who has inherited the mokuton KKG, other than Hashirama), while other KKGs seem to be more common (eg: Dodai, Mei, and Kurotsuchi all have Corrosion/Lava style, though their abilities differ slightly)

Anyone has any idea/conspiracy theory that could explain this? Maybe some sort of elaborate plot to eliminate specific lines (KIV: Most of the Uzumaki clan members were massacred because of their proficiency at using Fuinjutsu)?

I don't know, powerful ones seem to be dying out, mainly because of the persecution they received because of their unusual power. That is why it is so impressive that Mei got to the position of Kage.

As for their frequency, I have no idea, I wish Kishi could just explain how this all works in the next databook or better yet in the manga.

I was wondering about the senju dissapearing too its like they went extinct and tsunade is the last of the species. too bad she doesnt have mokuton

The majority of ninjas who possess these Kekkei Genkai either never have kids to pass down to or die before they can have kids. (for example, Haku).

That's just my take on it.

lava realease-only shown 4 users(none shown to have kids) but there might be more
blaze realease-like someone wants to marry sasuke 0.o
boil release-mei is the only one shown thus far and doesnt have a husband or kids yet suprisingly

longelivity-i dont know if it counts as KG but uzumakis are almost extinct so if karin or naruto doesnt have kids there screwed

Well, if you look that way, then all KKG are disappearing. These are the only known holders of the KKG, and there is still a possibility that there are more users:

Blaze Release - Only Sasuke
Boil Release - Only Mei
Byakugan - This is the first that is not disappearing, Hyūga clan
Crystal Release - Only Guren
Dust Release - Only Oonoki, Mū long dead
Explosion Release - Unknown, all known users dead
Ice Release - Unknown, Haku and his mother dead
Lava Release - Only Dodai, Mei and Kurotsuchi
Magnet Release - Probably disappeared, third and fourth Kazekage dead, Toroi dead
Rinnegan - Well, it is extremely rare
Scorch Release - Only Pakura, she's dead
Shikotsumyaku - Kimimaro was the only one, and he and his clan have disappeared
Storm Release - Only Darui
Wood Release - All users dead, except Yamato

well oonoki and mu arent family at least not know right now and they share the same kkg so it think most of them u can just learn. Beside dojutsu and hashis mega mokuton that was infused with lifeforce but on yamato level why not

KKGs can only be acquired through genetic inheritance. It isn't simply a matter of learning/training/practising (unlike basic elemental jutsus), which is why it is so sought after and feared (remember the Kirigakure KKG massacres??).

As for the KKT, there is some debate as to whether Onoki and Mu are acrually related by blood, or if Onoki already had the Dust Release KKT (inherited), but was taught to be proficient in using it by Mu.
