What would Itachi have done if Naruto had willingly gone with Itachi?

In part 1 Itachi and Kisame came to collect Naruto. Itachi said things will be better for both of them if Naruto came willingly. Instead Naruto resisted and that gave enough time for Jiriaiya to show up and allowed Itachi to retreat. If Naruto had just gone with them Itachi would've been kinda screwed because Konoha would've lost the nine tails and Kisame was right there so he couldn't just let Naruto go.

But if he killed Kisame then he couldn't return to Akatsuki and the Third Hokage was dead so he couldn't return to Konoha either. And even if he didn't care about NAruto he still wouldn't want the leaf to lose the nine tails

Itachi didn't feel anything for Naruto back then.

He felt something for Konoha though. Itachi's portrayal was inconsistent in part one but what are you gonna do? :shrug:

The series end's, however, I think it would have been a rescue Squadron sent for Naruto; so he would have created many scenarios: (1) Itachi handing over naruto purposely to Konoha, without Kisames unaware. (2) Sasuke would have convince Naruto to keep away from Itachi. (3) Naruto changing his mind because of his goal of becoming Hokage. Etc. as I can go on.

Itachi could take Naruto back then, but he knew that Naruto cares about Sasuke, so besides Itachi already knows Sasuke got a good friend someone like him, Naruto.
He just have drag on against Jiraiyas jutsu, but he decided to let Naruto be.

Kisame has more power than a tailed beast. Itachi can't beat tailed beast, Itachi dies.

He would've made up another excuse to kisame if naruto did in deed come with them. Kisame seems to take itachi's words as absolute and rarely questions his decision or just let naruto go and tell kisame that, when they captured naruto it was actually a genjutsu that he put him in, in order to test his vessel U_U
