It seems Kabuto filled him in about the war? Maybe he left out Tobi's goal. I mean, I don't think he would want the world under Genjutsu. Would he?

I don't think so because back in the kage summit arc, Tobi warped Sasuke into his dimension with Karin and then revealed his sinister plans. I don't think Tobi would dare tell Sasuke about his eye of the moon plan because it is obvious that Sasuke doesn't want to be put in an infinite tsukiyomi. Or maybe the EMS grants him immunity. Honestly I don't know, good question though.
