why is haku called a boy?

I cant believe that people such as haku can be called 'him' or 'he' because it just cannot be that he is a boy. I believe he is a girl but why does naruto call haku a boy?

Kishimoto made him this way to show that he was "different". HE is a boy. Haku is male, in every manga, and anime. The only exception is the Serbian version, where they decided to refer to him as female. Kishimoto made him male, so he is, male.. >.> Don't ask such stupid questions in the future.
