It's rather obvious considering Itachi found the weapons and that they are not a permanent attachment to his Susanoo. The items can be taken away from Itachi just as Itachi himself was able to obtain them in the first place. It just takes a skilled opponent who possesses the right techniques, and it just so happens that Nagato fits the bill.

What in terms of defense? I would like to see that shield tank chibaku tensei,shinra tensei, or even a TBB. Just because it can block small scale attacks doesn't mean it can't get Overwhelmed by large scale attacks.

Just go read the manga, I really don't feel like searching, But its around the time oro came out during sasuke vs itachi(Last fight). Oro was stating how he was searching for those weapons and that he could never find them, Because itachi already found them.
