It doesn't matter what should have happened Sasuke was the last man standing. Thats like saying "We lost the football game 5-0 but we were trying to hit the post, so we basically won". That makes no sense, it's a fight and the aim is to defeat your oponent, you're failing to acknowledge the fact that Naruto's primary objective was to bring Sasuke back to Konoha.

summoning a giant toad to a 1 vs 1 fight is pretty stupid, 1st naruto wouldve had to explain to the toad the situation since back then gama wasnt that buddy buddy with naruto.

2nd, the toad would just get in the way, since he wouldnt be against a large scaled opponent.
