Shikamaru doesn't have the speed or power to beat Sasuke. He has no speed to dodge susanoo arrow and no power to break through susanoo.

Shikamaru wouldn't last 2 minutes in a battle with sasuke because hes stronger then him and much faster but if he had any chance of beating sasuke he would have to do something very clear like create a diversion or distraction and use his shadow technique to immobilize his movements to prevent him from attacking

Yeah, this. I say restrict Sasuke his sharingan and ability to use any jutsu whatsoever, and give Shikamaru a power boost and 3 years of prep time with full knowledge then we may have a fight. But I said we "may" have a fight, Sasuke still stomps extremely hard.

What if we make this baby Sasuke?

Well 3 tomoe Sasuke would beat Shikamaru with rather low difficulty and I'm not trying to underrate Shikamaru. If Temari and Hidan were able to dodge Shikamaru's shadows, Sasuke with his superior speed and sharingan will have absolutely no problem. Shikamaru is also a stationary fighter so he will get owned by Sasuke's attacks whether it be fire, lightning or just swords.

Also Sasuke can summon his hawk and go up in the air to prevent any shadows from attacking him. If Sasuke does that, Shikamaru has 0 chance at beating Sasuke.

Edit: I thought this was 3 tomoe Sasuke lol. This is actually EMS Sasuke in which case Sasuke stomps in two seconds at max even worse than that Temari>Sasuke thread.

Yeah man, well I think along with what I said we should halve Sasuke's speed in general because Shikamaru can't react to him, doesn't really matter what traps or brain you have if the person in front of you appears behind you the next second and your head is no longer attached lol.
