-The Sharingan is a unique kekkei genkai, which is a dojutsu (literally meaning eye technique). It is unique to Uchiha but anyone can transplant it.

-One can awaken the Sharingan when they go through lots of trauma and emotional unrest, as demonstrated, when Itachi tortured Sasuke, after which, he awakened his Sharingan for the first time.

-The relation between Sharingan and Genjutsu is that the Sharingan allows you to catch people in your illusions with ease as soon as they look in your eyes. It also allows you to see if someone is in Genjutsu because their chakra flow will be irregular.

The Sharingan goes like this:

-Ability to see chakra flow. (1T)

-Ability to perceive attacks and predict movement. (2T)

-Ability to copy and redo ninjutsu, genjutsu and taijutsu so accurately that it's almost perfect. (3T)

-An experienced Sharingan user would be Itachi who mastered it age 8. Another experienced Sharingan user would be Uchiha Madara, revered as the most powerful Uchiha of ALL time.

Sharingan genjutsu allowed the replay of memories to someone else, induces paralyzing illusions, can make opponents fall asleep and most of the genjutsu is visually oriented meaning direct eye contact from initiation.
