I don't need to know them personally. Have you ever met Osama bin laden, a KKK member, or a westburough baptist church member? Do you need to meet them to know they are ass holes? I'm an Agnostic, because I find it the most logical explanation; no one can be sure whether there's a supernatural power, God, etc. To be honest, all the atheists base are such because of the Science, but if you give it a thought, to some point the Science is as much a believe as religion is. All facts and theories are based on our rationality and our perception, therefore you can't be sure whether it really is universal or even whether it's true.
On the other hand, religions base their ideology on pure faith without even trying to give a proper proof.
At the end, neither can be really a trusted to prove God's existence. So you simply can't be sure whether the Supreme Being or Power exists or not.

Dude dont be ridiculous there are 1000 thread of this type not only of this site but even on other big sites like yahoo etc who are about belive in god or no but tell me one of them that come to an end, eveyone has his own view on this kind of threads....i understand the meaning of this thread "A opinion" but ppl wont go like the threads rules but they will definetly start to fight.

I read it, i tried to plus rep you but couldnt. Using logic and inteligent discussions won't change anyones mind however. People are entrenched in what they believe and won't except anything that remotely implies anything else.

Atheism is more than just the disbelief of a Deity or supernatural beings; It is about proof; Proof that can be replicated an proven again, and again, and again.

What you stated doesn't have anything to do with God, yes you are probably thinking if there was a God he would prevent this from happening but that would go against the natural flow of everything.

God can't just stop mass destruction and chaos with a click of his fingers. In Islam God's way is peace, but this isn't a religion thread so I won't expand.

Like I said if God automatically stopped all pain and suffering the natural flow of how things are meant to be would be disrupted. Now I'm not saying that all this violence is supposed to be the natural flow. The natural flow is supposed to be us humans combating the suffering our own way. It is testing our faith and resolve. God wants US to protect the beautiful world he made.

yes by definition of disbelief I am an atheist

but I call myself a naturalist, I believe in science: physics, ... and its explanations of the world, ...
