first of all, yes i know i am gonna get flamed... but if you think about it, there is no sense in hating a character. yes, there are characters which you like or dislike but you don't hate them.
itachi usually get flames from all around. some reasons i managed to gather:
1. fanbase of itachi is the worst which is a well known fact. this is the main reason for most of base people to hate him because 11 year old fangirls and fanboys usually come up with stupid arguments and miserable threads like the one i saw somewhere "itachi can take on 10 kage level ninjas all at once". this type of statements irritate people and push them away from that character.
2. itachi's duels with lots of fan favorite characters can be another reason. i know other characters also get into fights with favorites but the way itachi one shotted those characters made their fans to hate itachi.
for example: kakashi was polled no. 4 fan favorite character in part 1 and he, getting one shotted by itachi, offended his fans.
like that, itachi one shotted diedara, orochimaru, naruto (a while ago). so that makes their fans tend to oppose to anything positive about itachi.
3. because he failed. tried to protect his village alone and seriously messed up the things. sasuke went on rampage against konoha which he wanted the least. wanted to stop edo but the main threat remained unharmed.
4. the fact that itachi died twice but haven't lost a single battle (except the one against sasuke, which he lost on purpose), this made his fanbase boast about his invincibility but narutards didnt like this overwhelming record because it should belong to the main protagonist or main antagonists.
there can be many more... but i want to know your views on this. what, according to you, are the reasons for hatred against itachi.
