They don't work on him because he can go intangible, I don't think he can make Gedo Mazo like that. So I think that it just didn't work on Gedo since it's too big and powerful.

Gedo Mazo screamed at the Kamui and it was blown away, kinda like kid Naruto using Kyubi power screaming at Sasuke's goukakyu to counter it, it warped the force of his roar instead of it. Which is why Kakashi was breathingly heavily. He kamui'd something...just not the mazo.

Gedo Mazo is way to large to just vanish so quickly. I'm thinking Tobi may have warped it before Kakashi could since his is faster plus having it in the Tobi dimension is the safest place.

Another idea is that Tobi could have de-summoned it all together b/c it was getting to crazy on the battle field.

Tobi did something to nullify the kamui jutsu. He can extend his powers to other objects like he does with his war fan.

There is no defense against kamui because it is a s/t jutsu; a jutsu that alters reality. Unless there is another form of reality altering jutsu involved, then you won't be able to defend against it.

However, it can be avoided just by moving out of kakashi's line of sight, or by changing his focus onto another object by putting something in front of you to be warped instead.

Most likely Tobi stopped it or could just be that the Juubi wont die to a sharringan technique in fact it cant be killed or the sage of 6 paths would have done it and Sage of 6 paths with creation of all things is infinitley stronger then Kakashi
