Did Itachi Know About Tsunade's Return?

When Itachi came back to the Leaf and tortured Sasuke, did he know that Tsunade was coming back to the Leaf. I mean he Tsukuyomi'd Sasuke and mindf***ed him, did he know the damage he would do and that the world greatest medical ninja was the only person in Konoha that could cure the damage?

I mean for someone who really 'loved his brother' he really either didn't think it through, is just evil and wanted him to go to desperate measures for power or could see into the future. :shrug:
