This whole thing, in my opinion, is just fishy anyway.

The Rinnegan gives the ability to revive the dead. Tobi's Sharingan has an ability extremely similar to Obito's Sharingan, and we all know Kakashi has one. When we think of who can match Madara in terms of power... we think of Tobi.

but....im wondering..couldnt madara and izuna just exchange like ONE eye? wouldnt they both have gotten like one mangekyou sharingan? i mean sure they wouldnt be able to use susanoo, but first of all i think they didnt even know about that one and second i think its much better than just to steal (or take as a gift whichever was true) the eyes of your own brother....right?

Because they wanted to protect their clan,- Taking eyes of their own clan would be very hypocritical?

He doesn't have to take them, these same people who want protecting; One of them couldn't have offered up their Eyes for the greater good of the Clan?

Except it was stated that to obtain MS, Madara and Izuna each killed their closest friend.

Presumably, these friends were fellow Uchiha clansmen -- this all predates the establishment of the village system, so they probably didn't spend a lot of time around people from other clans, except when fighting. Also, the Uchiha were basically described as mercenaries, so they would've moved around a lot to wherever the action was.

Agreed. Also, since Madara was supposedly the clan leader, he probably could've just ordered some schmuck to give up his eyes.

Something slight can be said about you...because i don't understand your comments relevance to what i am asking you...

I understand what you are getting at. I always wondered how izuna would die in his blind state when he could get a sharingan transplant like kakashi or danzo. I dont think compatibility would be issue for izuna as he is uchiha blood and kakashi and danzo aren't, who are easily strained by its use. If izuna was madara equal i dont think he would be someone to go blind and die like that.

you know... you are talking about the guys who killed their best friends to obtain MS... An Uchiha has the license to kill...

Izuna is probably still alive, otherwise he would be summoned. Also, Im sure he could have gotten a fresh pair of eyes seeing that he and his buddy were the bosses of the Uchiha
