Well maybe when i was younger due to the stereotyping of the media and general assumption of society, and now i believe it is their choice. You see its the stereotyping of the media, how gays are potrayed which annoys people or whatever. Now the thing is gays cannot be put under one category and not all gays are the same just as people are not the same. I mean if they are normal and are gay its different you know imagine if you have a mate and instead of girls he likes dudes right you might accept that.
However there are those gays that are so in your face, with how they act, how they dress even how they speak. I dont want to sound rude but there are those few that even look gay like as clear as day. For example that guy from one of those adverts on tv who is standing on a balcony wearing a crown a pink coat or whatever and holding a cane. I cannot stand that guy and if all gays were like that then i would have a problem with them but they arent and i dont. I mean while i was at uni there were a couple of guys who were in the year above and would help in class or whatever and i only found out that the guy helping me after many weeks or months was it was gay and at first i was abit unnerved on that day and then the next time i saw him next class i was like huh he is just like a normal guy except he likes guys. To be honest the guy was really nice and easy to talk to.
So to summarise, even if it may not be a commonality and not a very accepted thing gays are people and though i am personally insulted when someone calls me gay, ( i wouldnt like to be called a thief etc) i mean its no laughing matter its used to take the piss i dont hate them or have a specific problem with them its not like you see them everywhere or they are in your face. So as long as they dont do anything sexual in my presence or make me feel nervous by how they act or are those what i term them supergays aka annoying gays that dress bad, talk bad, act bad and are attention seekers no i dont have any problems with them and im not sure but im thinking thats how at least some people feel.
