I don't think you read her question right. She said he goes around telling other girls he loves them. Would you like it if your boyfriend goes around telling other girls he loves them? It could be platonic, but what kind of boyfriend goes around telling other girls he loves them?
She never said she didn't want him to talk to other girls, she only doesn't like it when he tells other girls he loves them, which is a normal reaction in my opinion.
