Kinkaku could not have been on the squad. He had previously made an attempt on the Second Raikages life during the peace ceremony with Konoha. And therefore would have been a criminal by the time of the Second Hokages death.

One thing I was really angry about was when they showed Kinkaku and Ginkaku before getting eaten by the nine tails and they look exactly the same. So I guess they were just born with whisker marks on their faces that happen to fit in perfectly with Naruto's nine tail whisker marks.

I noticed the mistake too!

And second,Tobirama was not killed by the gold and silver brothers,because they attacked him and the second raikage during a peace treaty or reliance ceremony,i think.After the attack he was left on the verge of death,but not killed. He died on a mission,when he stayed behind to let his comrades/youngsters escape(hiruzen,danzo,etc).He was killed by enemy ninja because of this, but before letting his comrades escape he named Hiruzen hokage.
