Itachi is dead. He died again when edo was canceled. Therefore he is not the stronger akatasuki member. He was killed by a weak sasuke. Madara for all he know died of natural causes or wounds suffer by perhaps one of the greatest ninja ever and trolled Edo to remain. Itachi was played and used like a fiddle by anybody with resemblance of political power.

The fact that he was tasked with the mission of assassinating Hashirama Senju attest to this. His abilities as well were are par with Hashirama before gaining the Earth Grudge Fear technique. Had Kishimoto payed attention to this man in particular then he would have been Edo Madara level.

Eh, i dont think Edo Madara's level, but yeah for sure, Kakuzu was one of my fav characters and I wish they coulda showed more for him, he coulda been so much better

Itachi got played by tobi. got played by danzo. completely failed his brother. Didn't sealed nagato alone, sealed Orchmaru oh wait he didn't. Planned to kill tobi, failed, Scared of Jaraiya who fought the 6 paths and not a crippled. When 2 people fight and one runs out of chakra by what ever means its a lost.
