How Nagato got Rinnegan and Why

Nagato got Rinnegan from Madara, shortly before he died. He got Rinnegan because Madara was looking for an Uzumaki to give it to because of the strong chakra they posses, so he would be able to handle the strain that Rinnegan had becuase he would have to keep it on 24/7 and couldn't deactivate it. Nagato was also the one to get it because the Eddys village was destroyed and almost all of the Uzumaki were killed. Madara knew he was going to die so he gave the Rinnegan to Nagato, explained to him how to use it, and told Nagato to revive him later on in life so that he and Tobi could revive the Juubi( I dont know why Madara would help Tobi because I dont see what he has to gain but this isnt the thread to explain it). That is why Nagato had the Rinnegan. I hope I didnt disappoint any of you.

If Madara had his eyes transplanted into Nagato to be revived, why didn't he just give them to Tobi? Nagato could revive thousands, I'm sure Tobi can revive one.

If Madara had his eyes transplanted into Nagato to be revived, why didn't he just give them to Tobi? Nagato could revive thousands, I'm sure Tobi can revive one.

Because Tobi probably couldn't handle the strain of Rinnegan 24/7 since he couldn't deactivate it and Uzumakis have very strong chakra to maintain it.

Exactly ONE and maybe he trained his chakra to get it stronger it has been about 10-16 years and an example of what time can do: Look at what Naruto achieved over the time period of 2.5-3.5 years and dont say PNJ just think about it

Tobi wasn't 5 when Nagato was born. He has already reached AT LEAST 20 years of age, Madara's master partner wasn't a child, a 20 y/o Tobi can't revive one person or handle the Rinnegan and now that he is older can control 6 BIJUU, the Rinnegan, the Sharingan, and the Gedo Mazo at the same time? Yeah okay.

Nagato had a strong life force not unlimited chakra.
if the rinnegan had been implanted in his eyes it would drain chakra more than required.
And he kept it activated at all times. so if it was implanted, don't u think that he would have dropped dead

OP i believe they are implanted or Nagato started with the sharringan as he is A uchiha and Uzukami child and awakened them through pain...maybe thats how the sage unlocked it who knows

Yup, I agree, Nagato is an Uzumaki so has the life force of the sage, meaning that he can use the rinnegan on a large scale. Don't forget, he needed someone powerful that could be manipulated easily and they needed to collect the tailed beasts too so someone powerful would be needed to lead a team to do this and Nagato with the rinnegan ticks all of these boxes.

I disagree that Madara gave Nagato his own Rinnegan shortly before he died. I think Madara like Orochimaru did experiments with Senju Hashirama's DNA and his own Uchiha DNA so the he could figure out how to perfectly combine them into his own body.

Nagato was Madara's first experiment where he wanted to see how if the right stimulous combined with his own power and an Uzamaki/Senju's could manifest the Rinnegan. His second experiment was on Obito where he wanted to see if Senju Hashirama's Dna could effectively repair severe wounds, the result was Obito combined with Zetsu goop.

Madara than achieved Rinnegan years later using the data he collected from Nagato, however he never got the chance to complete his research on using Senju Hashirama's DNA to get rid of his wounds w/o his body having to be turned to Zetsu goop so he left Tobi in charge of reviving him. In the end Orochimaru seems to have completed that Data and when Kabuto summoned Madara he was able to intergrate Hashirama's DNA into Madara well enough where it restored him to his prime self.

Tobi called him that because he had the rinnegan which gives the power of 6 paths
