Haha while making this thread 3 other Tobi threads popped up. Just excited that tobi's identity is slowly being unveiled. Most facts point towards tobi IMO. Plus a thing I forgot to mention is that obito never really liked kakashi, atleast that was the mood I felt when reading the extra chapters of part1.

Kishi isn't very straightforward with everything. Like you said, he WANTS us to believe it's someone from Kakashi's past (Obito), but chances of that are just as likely as it being someone who has stalked them throughout the years. How else would Tobi know such an intimate detail about Gai? Did he see the fight between him and Kisame?

1. Gedo Mazou is a vessel, not the body. The body of the 10 ten-tails is supposedly in the Moon.

2. Obito, Tobirama. Kishi does not make everything obvious, and he would not make the biggest mystery in Naruto obvious. Do you know what would happen if he made Tobi Obito?

3. Obito does not know everything! Tobi was an adult when he fought Minato, and Obito would have still been young at that time. Tobi seems old, and Kakashi really isn't that old, so Obito wouldn't be that old either. U_U

4. Obito didn't hate Kakashi. If he hated him why would he die for him?

3. Now that I think about it I can't argue with that, but recently read a thread about two masked tobis, that one could be obito- the other madara(in the beginning of series since he was the only one capable of summoning kurama) possibly lol
4. Sasuke never really hated naruto until he wanted power, I believe that obito survived and grew up wanting power to stop war from ever happening again. Who knows how his life was after the rocks(assuming he survived from possible rescue from the ninjas that were nearby.)

Well I hate to agree with you but Kishi does seem to be hinting that Tobi can very well be Obito. There was no peace in his time, only war. He died as a result of being a "hero". Tobi mentioned all the things that Obito would hate.

Kakashi uses a space-time technique with Obito's MS to send things into another dimension. Tobi can do the same thing. Tobi also knows Kakashi and his abilities fairly well.

But I still have my doubts... For example, Tobi was much taller than Obito would be during his encounter with the 4th Hokage. Kakashi and Gai were still teenagers.

Yeah that is the only thing that bugs me, Which why I'm not 100% but most of the facts, the. Hints especially how he knew kakashi(or seem to know). Minato was able to best him so maybe he was a younger ninja( tall teenager?)
