"Nice guy" is dying out

OK, so we all know how everyone says there's no more nice guys in the world and everyone is a jerk? I finally found out why
First, let me state that it is common knowledge that most girls think that confident guys are more attractive than insecure ones. It is also well-known that jerks and douchebags are usually more confident than nice guys, who are often socially awkward and shy. So, in essence, girls really are more attracted to douchebags and jerks.
If girls are more attracted to jerks, then they will have more chances to reproduce and pass on their genes, while the nice guys are slowly being driven to extinction. Which makes the future of humanity very gloomy indeed.

Well, not exactly. Personality isn't a gene. A nice guy can be the offspring of a jerk. It's just more rare to find a nice guy these days because of "what's in style" e.g. YOLO, Swag, etc. etc. people are losing common courtesy and are just starting to "sag their pants" to show off to friends to be socially accepted.

Also, while one is not set in the same path as one's parents, social science (and common sense) have shown that parental behavior is key to molding the behavior of the child. Therefore the child of a jerk is much more likely to be a jerk.

Well of course, basic psychology could agree with the fact that both your environment and your parents completely mold the way you are, so it's definitely more likely to have a jerk offspring of a jerk "Like father like son" per say. But it's not impossible to have a child be different from the parents due to the child's opinions about his/her parents. Like, if the child isn't too fond of the parents personality, they'll stray away from that form of personality and develop their own or mold off of someone else.
