it means that kimimaro would have been able to cloes the gap between konoha and Otagakure and Sunagakure, which when you think about it was a pretty massive gap, meaning that in his prime kimimaro must have been very very strong

It states clearly in this manga page that Orochimaru prefered Kimimaro's body MORE than the one of an uchiha.
Why? Probably because the Kaguya clan had the younger brother's body strength, meaning that they also are their descendants. Just like the Hyuuga clan are also the descendants of the Older brother.

Imo what orochimaru really wanted was the body of a senju (or at least someone who had great strength in their body), the power of the eyes could simply be transplanted and that's why he wanted Kimimaro's body more than Sasuke's or Itachi's

Hizuzen was an old man but he was really strong Orochimaru was stronger the kimminaro and Orochimaru lost to Hizuzen.

Kimmimaro was getting slapped around by being buried underground all the time
And the last time wouldve killed him

All I'm seeing is that if kimimaro was healthy him AND orochimaru would have been able to best Hiruzen easily but even a sick kimimaro bested Lee and nearly bested gaara seconds later after his fight with Lee,yes Lee was still recovering from injuries but he wasn't on his death bed like kimi.

I think he meant that Kimimaro would have been unstoppable against the leaf ninja.
None of them could take him out.
