Did Kishi have it planned from the start?

If you look at the first manga, you see Sasuke on a hawk, Naruto in a toad's smoke - holding the toad scroll. Do you think he had everything planned out all the way to Taka from the start?

He probably had it in mind and used his idea. I don't think he thought out everything

He probably had a rough guestimate of how the story would go and things he knew he wanted in the story. But I think as the story goes on he might change his mind about somethings..

I was wondering the same thing--Just from a different perspective. Oro kept Anko alive from PART 1 because he knew she'd be of use, and now that her cursed seal has slid Oh So smoothly into play, it seems as if he had most planned from the start, Including sealing Hashirama so fighting Madara would be a challenge.

It all seems so perfect....

Well he is the creator of the Manga; I'm sure he didn't just spontaneously come up with Naruto ideas to string to together and create a story with...

I think he had a general idea for the plot, adding interesting details as he thought of it.

Ive been thinking the same thing lately i just call it epic foreshadowing because if you look a little farther in youll see sasuke on a snake naruto on a toad and sakura on a slug and all this was done before the chunnin exam so it might have been planned out or it might have helped with character development

No no no no no no no no. I can't stress this enough, NO. Itachi is a good example of improvisation in story, Tobi is a good example of improvisation, and Danzo is a good example of improvisation. Kishi didn't plan all of this out, he probably had only a general idea of the story.

I'm sure he had a lot of it planned almost all of it if not all is based of Japanese mythology n culture so most likely

No one makes something this big and doesn't plan it all out ... he may not know everything from the beginning but Im sure he has a story board form the start to the end!

He has a map of the main story points and themes because a lot of it mirrors Shinto mythology. The Uchiha represent the Tengu for example. Kishimoto is almost perfect on how well he plans in advance. He's Aizenchimaru.
