I remember when the sasuke/Itachi vs Kabuto chapters started We had all these kabuto fanboys with "Kabuto sage mode is stronger than Naruto" and "Kabuto has surpassed Oro!" and "I make horrible fanboy decisions!" (lol)

so after seeing Orochimaru use him and take what he wanted and merely leave him there, I have a question.
1) Are Kabuto fanboys even here anymore or did they jump the band wagon and find a new character to drool over?

Not mad at all. I obviously like Orochimaru more, but I don't think Kabuto is out of the picture quite yet. Orochimaru only took his own DNA from Kabuto, and left the Sound 5 and Taka intact. Kabuto will make a come-back and be the man to do what the Uchiha failed to do; He will be the one to put an end to Orochimaru's life.

Kabuto himself stated how he could be described as being Orochimaru himself just with a new body, Kabuto and his fanboys knew that he was Oro be apparently enhanced. While he used Oro's chakra to use as many Edo as he did he still trained hard to obtain SM and did his own experiments.
