It was said that the professor, Hiruzen Sarutobi, had surpassed all the hokage before him, which i am assuming is the 1st and 2nd lol. he also was praised as the God Of Shinobi. Orochimaru even goes as far to admit he would have been killed by him if it had been a few years earlier [still not in prime]. though these are all statements i have to take this as hype. So obviously this question is based off of hype. for the sake of argument lets say he was on par with the 1st hokage. though the data books say he was the strongest hokage, lets assume he and the 1st were equal in strength. can we then assume that he is on the same level as EMS Madara? was it atleast strong enough to beat madara with just his MS? i mean we have seen the devastating power of Madara. my question is do you think the third in his prime was gifted enough to defeat madara just as the first hokage managed to defeat him, or is it because of the 1st KG that he was able to defeat Madara and how easily does madara defeat the third if so.

The First's KG was the reason he beat EMS Madara + the Kyuubi; however, I doubt the First's KG was the main reason he'd beat Madara alone. I'd say the Third could handle him if his hype holds true.

well hype is needed when no physical evidence is available. this is a matter of opinion not fact so hype shall suffice

You can't use ABC logic. It just seems that Hashirama was suited to fight Uchihas, and do so very well. Even if Hiruzen > Hashirama, it does not mean Hiruzen > EMS Madara. I say this because Hashirama's Mokuton may've been able to suppress Susanoo's chakra, so obviously this would've given him an edge (ala, Guy's taijutsu vs Kisame). My interpretation of the manga (because I know others won't agree) is that Hiruzen's knowledge of Shodai's abilities trumps his strength, hence why he was said to be the strongest Hokage. So if you ask me about what I think with regards to Hiruzen vs EMS Madara, I feel that Madara is likely to have too much for him. But there is absolutely no way for me to go into detail as to why this is the case, because we haven't seen Hiruzen's prime. I just feel that Mokuton gave Hashirama a major edge.

Madara was considered one of the best shinobi's in his time he managed to fight on par with hashirama... We never saw that much of hiruzen so we can't really say how poweful he'd be... i hate the fact that everyone states

"He was soooooooooo strong in his prime".... STFU none of us ever saw him in his prime...-.- this is back up by only statements written by kishi himself... many of you would point out "Kishi made it so he's right".... no because kishi could make any character OP...Strong... invincible.. all im saying is statements can't tell us the truth ECT....

all we know about hiruzen is that he was very skillfull and had vast knowledge of every element, and had an arsenal of 500+ Jutsus....

Madara on the other hand, all we've saw of him is the fact that he has EMS / Rinnegan.
he mastered all elements due to the rinnegan... his wood style...

We can't really say "Hiruzen would get buttraped" because we never saw evidence of how powerful he was in his prime... its only his fanboys stating "God of shinobi" that phrase could mean anything in the narutoverse... i agree kishi made that statement.. but we cannot just assume madara would kick his ass... or the other way round... there's just not that that much evidence stating which one out of the pair is superior... but as many people would say... - Madara is... well im sticking to my theories and knowledge... Not Enough evidence to make assumptions..

ABC logic doesn't work in Naruto. Even if the third was stronger than the 1st doesn't mean he can beat the same people he can its all about match ups. The first was a lot more used to fighting Uchaias than the third.

I have re read the manga (fights and so on) many times which is why I can prove so many people wrong when they say something
