The Byakugan Is Quite Suited To Fight The Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan (Explained)

The main weakness i see in the Hyuuga is a lack of chakra altogether. All their moves are precision attacks to not use too much chakra. Complete control which makes them very deadly taijutsu users. Neji just seems to run out of chakra quite fast compared to how many moves he uses. I'm not so sure about the elders. Perhaps they have more chakra allowing for longer battles.

If the Hyuuga clan was to have an ultimate weakness its the amount of chakra they have.

The saddest part of this whole thread is that it's pointless. Regardless of the theories and bias of the two doujutsu, the sad truth of the matter is Sasuke could defeat Neji without his sharingan.

When you combine someone who has the eyes to see all of your muscle movements in great detail, your whole chakra network in great detail, the nature of your chakra, the heat from your body all at near 360 degrees with a radius of 800 meters plus x-ray vision....................with someone who has the body of a Taijutsu expert with the speed to act on these details..

Really late on this. You probably won't read this but here I go.

2. Neji could possibly try to predict Sasuke's actions by reading his chakra network. It doesn't help if he doesn't have the capability to defend himself.

6. Even if he did attack the weak point of Susanoo, it wouldn't disrupt the entire being. Danzo was able to erupt a hole in Susanoo by attacking its weak back, and Tsunade was able to break the ribs with force. Gentle fist's chakra disrupting abilities come from closing chakra points. Susanoo doesn't have those. Neji broke out of the water prison because it is a delicate jutsu. If the chakra flow in the water is disrupted, it collapses. This isn't the case for Susanoo. It can be torn in half and the rest will still be there. Neji gets too close and he dies. He isn't going to be able to stop a punch from Susanoo.

Vacuum palm doesn't have enough force to cause damage to Susanoo. Do you think it has the same power as Tsunade's punch? or the slicing ability of Danzo's wind jutsu aided by suction from the Baku? It has neither. It wouldn't work.

2. Well since Nagashi is not forceful but instead electrocutes on contact Neji could use his chakra envelope following by Vacuum palm if he is not already in range to use 64 palm.

Against Sasuke it would be best for Neji to use Vacuum Palm to knock Sasuke off his feet (I have never seen it dodged) and follow up with 64 palms as a combo so that Sasuke would find it harder to analyse his movements.

6. Ok, this is what I mean with Byakugan and Gentle fist breaking ninjutsu.

Tsunade can damage susanoo, and yes sections of susanoo can be formed as opposed to whole, so surely the chakra flow of susanoo won't be harmed by Neji's strike correct?

Nope, tsunade damage susanoo yes, but it's not the same as disrupting the flow, and just blindly damaging susanoo won't wreck the whole thing.

If Naruto cuts Neji's arm deep, but not as deep as to sever it, he has not damaged his chakra network.

Ok you can respond to that by saying maybe the chakra netowrk is in the bone or something, the thing is where naruto has to cut off the whole arm to stop the flow and thus make it useless, Neji just hits the right's spots on the arm and with less effort and power the same effect is achieved.

Lets get back to susanoo, sunanoo is a defensive ninjutsu that has highly offensive capabilites, but talking from it's defensive side, it would not make sense for it to full apart upon taking serious damage in one section.

The byakugan will allow Neji to see the point of the susanoo that if disrupted will effect the whole structure, the same tech was used on Kisames water prison and the same tech is used when the Hyuga strike the area of the chakra network located in the same area as the heart.

Neji did not strike randomly at the water prison but at the point that influenced the whole water prison chakra flow.

The Hyuga do not strike at the heart because the heart is an important organ, they strike that area of the network because it is the central point for the whole network, they could strike at brain, take out the brain thought would require excessive power that gentle fist does not use., but they strike at the center of the network.

Every structure in the universe NU included falls about if you hit the right spot, take out the right pillar, or pillars, only the people who can locate these pillars are the Hyuga, that is their main power.

Ok, please go to my OP you will see neji sees the shinobi's mouth section of his chakra network filling with chakra, he predicted the attack that was coming and preped for the attack.

This is not an expert Hyuga but a child able to quickly spot a change in the chakra network and prepare.

Ok I will begin my explanation.

For the sake of clarity and as little chakra advantage as possibly I will use Neji and Sasuke.

A shortened version is not being made, please read all before criticisin.

Please do not just attack because the whole idea angers you.

This post is for the sake of a constructive and interesting discussion.

Flames may come anyway xd.

BTW it is my opinion that MS Sasuke loses to Neji, as an MS Sharingan user is basically a Sharingan user with Nukes that can be used 3 times max in one day, as for EMS vs Byakugan It would be a high diff win if Byakugan were to win.

How Byakugan could win will be explained below.


Alright Let's start with what EMS can do and how Byakugan can counter it.

I will also point out the negatives of using these skills while only having MS to validate my Byakugan > MS stance.


So to start Sasukes EMS is quite special (blaze release), and at the same time lacking (Tsukuyomi ,absolute prowess in Sharingan Genjutsu, still not in his possession).

Sasuke Can​

Cast Sharingan Genjutsu, with MS it wore him down considerably, but with EMS he seems to be only slightly weakened after casting it.

This is a much weaker version of Tsukuyomi, but it does incapacitate the Shinobi that falls under it, even if it is just momentarily it provides crucial openings.


Amaterasu said by zetsu to "converge at the focal point of the caster, I will not go (completely) by the data book description of the speed of Amaterasu, as this description has not been supported by feats within the manga.

What I will do, is say that the flames are much faster than normal katon, and the flames burn it's target completely unless they are sealed, dispelled by force or shed with the skin or any other outer layer.

There are no other ways to remove the flames, and they will burn until the target is consumed completely, or if not maintained by the caster for more than three days.


Susanoo, this is usually praised for it's powerful (but breakable defense) in actually fact it is also a very powerful offensive tech, it seems Sasuke can place a ball of Amaterasu into the hand of his Susanoo's and use blaze release to send flames from that ball to targets.

Susanoo is made from Amaterasu like chakra and given by Tsukuyomi, it is a manifestation of the chakra of the user and a Double MS (DMS) is required for it to be activated.

If a DMS user uses Susanoo it would completely wear them out and make battling further difficult even if MS techs are not used.




I will now talk about how the Byakugan can battle the above three.

Sharingan Genjutsu

This attack is weaker than Tsukuyomi, it can not control time in the Genjutsu world, and danzo was able to counter it, though I will assume that sasuke has strengthened it since that battle.

Byakugan users have x-ray vision, being able to see through solid objects such as walls, they can also see using heat vision, chakra nature detection and chakra network vision.

X-ray vision is more important right now, because they can see through walls logic would suggest that they can see through eye lids which are considerably thinner.

So Byakugan users can see the battle field in great detail with their eyes closed, at near 360 degrees vision and with neji for at least 800 meters.

Neji will not fall under Sharingan Genjutsu as Sasuke will not be able to make eye contact with him.

Sasuke has not been shown to use any other significantly powerful Genjutsu other than Sharingan Genjutsu.

Neji as a Hyuga, and thus a member of one of the best sensing type ninja in NU, and an Expert Gentle Fist user, thus having great chakra control, can free himself from the lesser ones.

Amaterasu

Sasuke is more advanced in this it would seem, by feats alone, than any other Uchiha.

Now Neji can use Revolving Heaven to repel the flames.

There is a problem here though that should not be ignored.

From short range due to the speed of the highest ranking katon, amaterasu, using Revolving Heaven should not be possible as it can not be activated in time, at mid range it is unlikely that anyone other than a Gentle Fist master can activate it in time.

Neji can however use Revolving Heaven in time throughout the rest of the battle if he survives the first, or the first two Amaterasu attacks, I will explain why after I suggest how Neji can survive them.

There are two ways.

The First Way.

It may take some time to activate Revolving Heaven but it takes is considerably less time for Neji to envelope himself in powerful (and not yet penetrated in the manga) chakra, shown below.

You can see here that it acts as an outer shell, now I do not suggest that the amaterasu will not burn through the shell, it will eventually, but becasue amaterasu burns slowly, and Neji can keep replenishing his chakra shell, the danger is not immediate.

He won't keep replenishing his chakra shell forever, this is neither practical or possible, he also does not need to as the amaterasu flames can now be repelled as Neji has enough time to now use Revolving Heaven.

The Second Way

If Neji fails to activate his chakra shell in time and gets hit by amaterasu, he can in fact still survive. Why?​

Neji can survive because he has displayed the ability to emit chakra from every part of his body, as you can see from the picture above Neji did this with enough force to remove the webs from himself, he had to this because the webs were too strong for him, a Taijutsu expert, to remove physically.

Another important factor is that the chakra comes from within Neji's body, meaning that he can use this method to push the amaterasu off of his body without touching it at all.

So we have established now that there are at least two ways that Neji can survive a direct hit from susanoo.

Now!! Hyuga clan members can see the chakra network of their oppponent, they can see the chakra nature also.

Now when ninjutsu is going to be used there is a change in both chakra flow of the network and in the nature of the chakra.​

Neji a byakugan user can see this change, (shown below, notice the change in the amount and type of chakra in the local area of the chakra network in his opponents head)

he can remember this for the next time amaterasu is about to be used, when this happens he has significantly more time to use Revolving Heaven because he can use it preemptively, or in fact counter Amaterasu preemptively, using Eight Trigrams Vacumm Palm for example, or dodge preemptively.

Susnaoo

It is pure chakra with form, ninjutsu is chakra given form and often a specific nature, if you have great chakra control you can mold the chakra and the chakra nature without hand signs, but many can not.

In the case of Susanoo, Tsukuyomi molds the chakra that drives Amaterasu, this results in Susanoo.

Neji has shown the ability use Byakugan (to see the weak points of a Ninjutsu's chakra structure) in conjunction with Gentle Fist (The ability to release chakra from tenketsu to directly disrupt the flow of chakra) to totally disrupt the chakra flow of the whole Ninjutsu tech, thus making it totally devoid of a definite form and thus ending the Ninjutsu (Ninjutsu is molded chakra).

Note that it is almost impossible for a Shinobi to move in a water prison.

Unusually great feats of strength or chakra are required to escape, because of this Water Prison is used as a way to drown even Jounin rank Shinobi, or if not kill, incapacitate them.​

Susanoo is a ninjutsu, it is chakra given form, if Neji can disrupt the flow of chakra with a powerful enough gentle palm tech (Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm for example) the form of susanoo will be destroyed, not through overwhelming power but with the finesse of a precision blow.

Also If Neji can block enough chakra paths after Susanoo is dispersed he can prevent it from being activated a second time.

Support for thread - My reasons why neji is the best candidate out of the konoha 11 to fight sasuke one on one

If this battle was to happen in the show for whatever reason sasuke wins hands down because of plot no jutsu. Whether it be karin saving his ass or anyone else from taka sasuke would win.

But I am talking about a complete one on one situation with no one to heal, help or give sasuke a chakra boost. Here are my reasons why neji can defeat sasuke one on one but it would be extreme high difficulty

Let's start with the dangerous threats from sasuke:

Genjutsu:

Would be useless against neji in a one on one against sasuke despite common rule being to run on a one on one situation with an uchiha because of their genjutsus. There are two reason why genjutsu’s would be useless against neji:

1) Neji will not fall under a eye contact genjutsu when it is just him and sasuke

Basic top class shinobi knowledge do not look into the eyes of a sharingan user which means neji does not have to worry about this at all. In a group fight neji may be caught off guard (as seen with A against madara) but on a one on one it is just you and your opponent no distractions. Neji is not hot headed enough to lose his cool and forget this he is also a top class shinob, a jounin, a elite hyuga clan member he will not fall under a genjutsu which just evolves eye contact.

2) Sasuke’s genjutsu is nowhere near the level of itachi’s tsukuyomi

Let's say neji does fall under a genjutsu (highly highly unlikely neji is top class shinobi, a jounin from konoha which would know more about the sharingan then other villages list goes on for reason why he wouldn't on a one on one)
Hyuga have excellent chakra control they are the best candidates to break out of a genjutsu then any other shinobi along with jinjurki's. Lucky for neji sasuke's genjutsu is nothing compared to itachi's tsukuyomi which means neji with his excellent chakra control can break out of it. (My main reason is he want get caught in one)

So I am going to state in a one on one neji will most likely not fall under a genjutsu and if he does he can break out of it. (If this was itachi's no chance neji is done for but once again I don't think he would get into one he is not hot headed and uses his brain)


Amaterasu:

Neji with his byakugan can see all chakra points in the body as well as chakra itself. When a shinobi is going to perform a jutsu the byakugan can see the chakra build up. This means that neji out of anyone else would be able to prepare better for amaterasu. Even better then when A was fast enough to dodge amaterasu by seeing it when it was released from sasuke's eye.

Now that neji knows amaterasu is coming neji can do a number of things to counter it:

1)Heavenly rotation: Elite hyuga members can preform heavenly rotation this will protect neji from amaterasu flames as the flames will burn around the chakra and then disperse as the chakra disperses.

2)Gentle Fist Art One Blow Body: A weaker but quicker and easier to perform defence that will push the flames and anything around neji’s body away.

3)Dodge: As I stated he will know amaterasu is coming before any other shinobi would so he has more time to prepare for his counter, he does not have to be as fast as A or BM naruto as he gets the heads up earlier. Amaterasu was also dodged by sasuke running circles around itachi.

So that is 3 counters against amaterasu in the order that would be most effective and most likely for him to use as he knows amaterasu will be coming.



Susano:

This is neji’s only worry when fighting against sasuke but at the same time neji is also the best candidate to disable sasuke from using susano and I will tell you why.

Susano is the user powerful chakra being released and then being materialised. Neji has the ability to block chakra path ways in the body if neji blocks enough chakra path ways sasuke will not be able to form susano.
This solves the biggest problem with destroying a susano which is if it is destroyed the user can just re-activate susano if he has enough chakra. If neji get’s enough chakra points even if sasuke has enough chakra he will not be able to use it to form susano.

This is great but we all know the main problem is what is neji going to do when susano is active. Well this is the tough part.

Neji will have to be on the defence at this point in the battle but lucky for him sasuke cannot keep susano active forever. With his ultimate defence neji can deflect susano arrows and physical punches and sword attacks from sasuke’s susano. So neji will be defending blocking maybe even hiding but as this is a one on one sasuke cannot keep this active forever.

The only way neji can do enough damage on susano to create a direct opening to sasuke just as danzo did in his battle, is getting close to susano and delivering a direct hit from heavenly rotation. This will break susano enough for neji to have access to sasuke and once this path way is open all neji will have to do is get sasuke in a eight trigrams 64 palms. If he is successful susano will be disabled and will be for a while and sasuke cannot activate susano right away as his chakra flow and path ways will be blocked.

If Neji manages this then it becomes sasuke's kenjutsu and taijutsu vs neji taijutsu

This is the worst case sceniory for sasuke because if he cannot form susano and his chakra path ways are blocked it is basically sasuke’s kenjutsu and taijutsu with his sharingan perception vs neji taijutsu. This is where neji would own sasuke, every blow neji delivers will either block sasuke’s chakra path ways or damage sasuke’s internal organs.

So basically if neji can disables sasuke’s susano via blocking enough of his chakra path ways neji wins. Of course if this battle ever was to happen it would be much harder then I have stated which is why I say extremely high difficultly for neji. Sasuke would probably beat neji 6 times out of 10 but neji defeating sasuke is not impossible, as I have shown in this thread

Either way, I completely agree with all of your points, and all of those moves ARE defeatable by a Byakugan user, HOWEVER, particularly in the case of the Susanoo, there is no way the user is going to stand still and allow the Byakugan user to destroy Susanoo. The Byakugan user would have to find a way to come in contact with the Susanoo without the Susanoo coming in contact with him.

Either way, I completely agree with all of your points, and all of those moves ARE defeatable by a Byakugan user, HOWEVER, particularly in the case of the Susanoo, there is no way the user is going to stand still and allow the Byakugan user to destroy Susanoo. The Byakugan user would have to find a way to come in contact with the Susanoo without the Susanoo coming in contact with him.

2. The Byakugan has had virtually no growth since part 1, this is a major drawback because the Sharingan has evolved multiple times and back then Sasuke and Neji were somewhat on equal terms. Not saying that Neji hasn't grown, but his power boosts have not been as significant as the Sharingan has.

I do find this theory very interesting, I have not written it off, because you make some valid points. You used Naruto logic to come up with your conclusions, Example: Neji was able to remove the webs from his body by expelling chakra through his pores, logic would suggest that this would have the same effect on everything that he comes in to contact with, but can we really use logic in Naruto??

Anyway, my final conclusion, I don't think Neji could beat EMS Sasuke, he would just be too much for him. But if we were able to see the full extent of what Neji is capable of now, he would probably have a better chance against an MS Sasuke.

You pretty much say the same thing I said. Neji (or whoever) would have to get Susanoo before Susanoo gets him. If Susanoo is gone, it's an easy win for the Byakugan user. But as seen in his battle against Kidomaru, even if something is made out of chakra (spider arrow) doesn't mean that Neji can just punch it away without getting hurt. So it could really go either way, and honestly, I see it leaning a bit more towards the Sharingan user. But ONLY because of Susanoo.

You used Naruto logic to come up with your conclusions, Example: Neji was able to remove the webs from his body by expelling chakra through his pores, logic would suggest that this would have the same effect on everything that he comes in to contact with, but can we really use logic in Naruto??

Anyway, my final conclusion, I don't think Neji could beat EMS Sasuke, he would just be too much for him. But if we were able to see the full extent of what Neji is capable of now, he would probably have a better chance against an MS Sasuke.

You pretty much say the same thing I said. Neji (or whoever) would have to get Susanoo before Susanoo gets him. If Susanoo is gone, it's an easy win for the Byakugan user. But as seen in his battle against Kidomaru, even if something is made out of chakra (spider arrow) doesn't mean that Neji can just punch it away without getting hurt. So it could really go either way, and honestly, I see it leaning a bit more towards the Sharingan user. But ONLY because of Susanoo.

Oh about the arrow not punch it out the way heavenly rotate it out the way.

Susano is easy to get close to as seen with A against sasuke and the 5 kages against madara the only problem is if your close to it you better have some powerful attack to damage it or your dead. I believe up close heavenly rotation would be deadly as seen with the ground when heavenly rotation is preformed.
