many people want the byakugan to have an upgrade or an evolved version there shouldn't be any.The abilities of the byakugan are actually great the only thing that makes it seem as if it is not in equal power to the mangekyou sharingan is the way it has been shown with their clan.
when the sharingan was presented with sasuke the dojutsu unlock 4 types of abilities so it was to read chakra,then to see and predict abilities, the third ability is to copy almost any technique, and genjutsu
this time when neji and his clan where being showed it looked like the byakugan was definately dominate of the eye dojutsu's and i would of actually have wanted to see a fight between those two.
Unlike the sharingan the byakugan actually see's chakra in detail and better.The byakugan see's the the chakra path ways and detect chakra sealed barrier to see genjutsu and ca know when genjutsu is cast.
The other ability of the byakugan is the vision this dojutsu actually has the greatest vision of the other dojutsu,
you can say that the sharingan can detect movement but it is limited to the person and it varies if the attack is sharp so the prediction factor is useless almost close up in fights if you depend on it.
the byakugan in sight actually varies from user and when they mature with the byakugan the almost near 360 degrees vision
they also can extend their sight to kilometers, i can actually see where my opponent is and what to do like when the rinnegan has summoning pupets at every corner with this much sight of the area and to see threw solid objects like the ground.
the byakugan only has one hard blind spot that they can protect them self's from.
the other ability of the byakugan is to use the pressure points of one's body.This is a huge advantage and a great feature to have.
If you were going against the raikage the byakugan user can hurt the raikage froom his internal organs rendering him useless, also they can close the chakra.
the mangekyou sharingan has tsukuyomi ok but at the same time the byakugan user is in touch with his chakra and can easily disrupt it, they see everything in the body.
amerterasu can be deflected by hevenly rotation which the byakugan user swirls his chakra and it automatically deflects any attack from all angle's it just depends on the user's chakra.
susanno they can bring it on as long as i know where susanno is i can keep the distance from the user since they have great vision or the byakugan user can seal there chakra up before they even use the tech because they see the changes on your chakra so they know when your using a jutsu.
basically the byakugan has so many great features that can actually beat great character's like the raikage,kakashi,tsunade, and many others.
the thing that makes the byakugan look not as good as the sharingan is only the user's.We really only see the children use the dojutsu barely the adults, even neji gets on the manga little now since it is on naruto heritage and sasuke.
if the sharingan didn't get an upgrade the sharingan would have beened trolled it needed the ms and ems.
stuff like this happens to the manga to make naruto look good and sasuke.

i only mentioned tobi and madara since naruto was going to die by tobi before but got saved by kakashi and guy. Madara was going to kill him but the 5 kages took the beating instead.
so overall i think the byakugan is tied with the mangekyou sharingan and or even better and is close in power with the ems.
