We need to see how the fight develop. I think Naruto have the potential to destroy pain. But Pain might have another trick up his sleeve that we havent seen yet.

He might pull a low one like what happen between Gaara and Deidra. Maybe he will use one of those killer attacks that he did earlier on Konoha, on the remaining bit of Konoha, and the only why for Naruto to deflect that will be to become a human shield. In the proses get toasted and be easy pickings for pain to collect him and drag him back to akatsuki.

Well, lets just see how this turns out.

Naruto can kill Pain, and Pain can kill Naruto, it just depends, but Kishi will not let Pain/Nagato be killed, on the simple fact that he is the key to sealing the tailed bests inside that ... statue. Without him, there is no more reason for Akatsuki because it would foil their plans completely.
