Different beasts with sharingans-like eyes appear in other chapters but that doesn't mean that they have sharingan. I guess it is an effect of the shangan's on them or a way for beasts to be controlled by sharingan users. For example take a look at manda's eyes before he dies:

The sharingan in the eyes of Manda and the 9 tails may just reflect that they're being controlled by an Uchiha's doujutsu.

if itachi did give naruto the sharingan, naruto could be able to tap into only at times he would need it. This could be a method to give a certain percent of itachi's sharingan to naruto. This method of swallowing and activating it when he needs it is alot more effective then just replacing the eye, because kakashi's eye is always on, and that puts some strain on his body all the time.

The way Itachi desribed the power he gave Naruto, was as if it was something so fearful, it could either kill him or other people. So I don't think it's a Sharingan.

and this confirmes the theory that naruto might actually have the sharingan and just has to activate it

sharingan is a bloodline limit, the only way he could have it is by pluging itachi eyes into his head...

I really can't see naruto having the sharingan.
