what does the success of a thread depend on?

so, what makes a thread popular? is it the topic or is it the fame of the the guy who posts the thread? just wondering aloud...and asking

If you are attention whoring then I would
A.get a lot of rep so people respect you (just dont rep *****)
B. write about a highly debated topic and make points that MAKE SENSE

but personally I just kinda thread about I want to talk about. I have never really worried about how much people liked it (other then my fanfics. i hope people enjoy those)

Depends on different aspects really, good topic, good opening post, a discussion that doesn't have one clear answer, etc.

FanFiction doesn't get as much attention as other threads. Usually we get more views whenever people are viewing only the FanFiction section.

As for the success of a thread, I think it depends on how it is set up. If it's a debate if there are scans, facts, and etc then it should be a good thread, as long as it just doesn't get flamed.

You should do a chapter 2. Don't let the views get you down. If I allowed views to get me down, I wouldn't have all the chapters that I do now.

If you have friends that are into FF, you can PM or VM them your FF.

Now back to on-topc: If they have facts, and are reasonable, and it's not a flame thread, then it should be a success. I made about 2 threads about Naruto, even though there weren't that many comments they didn't get flamed. As long as they don't get flamed I find it a success.

Even if you're right when making a thread, there are high chances that you'll get trolled anyways with the stereotypical "we already know this" lines.

Well threads with either Itachi, Minato, Hashirama, Madara, Nagato, Hiruzen, Sasuke and Naruto will get famous if there is a controversial claim such as so and so character is the strongest.

There are three in particular that get so many views: Hashirama VS Hiruzen, Minato VS Itachi and Naruto VS Sasuke. Those three topics have been done to death and no one ever gets tired of them. Why just why????
