It feels like people toss around the word "logic" to either put there argument on the podium or put someones down. Technically speaking Logic is reasoning. Meaning, someones reasoning for saying something could be totally different than yours or mine. It doesn't mean someone is "illogical" it just means their reasoning is different, so drop the logic crap.

You aren't logical when you say it, you're logical when you feel it.

That is so right, what is illogical to someone else is logical to you. People misuse a lot of words on NB and logic is one of them. +rep

There is your own Logic and then there is the Basic Logic, which is what your Logic and anyone elses Logic MUST be based off of...

To the people that asked why I made this thread. You're not the sharpest tool in the shed.

But to the guy that said NB misuses a lot of words, I wish I could +rep you 40 times, because you understand.

Ever heard of the term circular logic? There is something called flawed logic, too, you can't just blow that off as being 'different reasoning'. If I tell you to prove non-existence and you tell me such a thing is impossible (because it is), am I allowed to tell you that my reasoning is different than yours and still not undergo a mental check-up?
Jebus, son, don't go all 'perception is reality' on me.

If someone has enough reason to believe their reasoning, than their logic is not wrong to them, but somebody else might have different views on the matter.

What you're saying is taking it to a level where I didn't intend to. I'm talking about arguments.

Never heard of that perception is reality term tho

Ah, but you'd be surprised of how often arguments come to include completely basic facts. It's when people start to build on those facts that the tower becomes unstable.
But yeah, I get your point.

wrong!

someone who has the wrong facts will with logic come to the wrong conclusion, ie the earth is flat

if one has correct facts one will come to the conclusion that the earth is round

logic always gives same answers if the facts are correct (it doesnt differ person to person), so its up to facts if logic gives correct or incorrect answers, however weather you are able to use logic or not is another thing ...

if with same facts two persons get different answers one of them is either wrong or didnt use ''logic'' but was affected by emotions that is how you can get different answers, (correct) logic always produces same answers
