First, I'm curious as to what brought about this discussion; it's interesting I guess, but a tad odd. o_O xd

As far as traders: I like them, if it weren't for people selling their goods then there would be less variety of things period. Trading has led to people traveling to other countries in order to trade all throughout history pretty much. one of the oldest professions.

As far as traitors: it depends, who or what did they betray? If they betrayed my country, then I think the full force of the law should be brought down. If they betray another country for my country or an ally, then they're a hero (but maybe not to their country, and I might have a slight mistrust of them simply because they've already done it once). If this is between two countries that I don't care about, then, well, I don't care; though I might not trust such a person for the same reason.

Betraying me personally, then I would feel betrayed. I'd move on, but that would be the last time I trusted them. If it was someone that I loved or put a lot of trust in to begin with, I would be rather upset; there could be fistacuffs if it was another man, and maybe a little yelling if it was a woman. Again, I'd move on, but the time it takes for me to get over it depends on what it was and how much I was hurt by it. I try not to remain angry, bitterness is not a fun thing to live with, so keeping a chip on my shoulder wouldn't be my thing.

I would still trust people, but that's just how I am, I just wouldn't be fooled a second time by the same person is all. ;)

There's always the concept of giving people a second chance even if they betray you. Depends on the context and subcontext. Being able to either forgive and forget or hold a grudge against a traitor for the rest of your life. If they've killed someone dear to be on purpose, or done something inhumane - well then there's no second chance there. But if a person attempts to redeem themselves I'm all for forgiving.

Hello lad! I'm a Trader! I wander the world buying and selling wares, especially to fine folk like your good self.

I'm okay with traders, actually. It's too bad that they always end up getting killed by bandits in the goddamn Darkwoods >_>

EDIT: Oh O_O
Being a traitor is such a harsh word, I'd call it joining the superior side .-.
Traitor in what context?

I'm always acting according to my personal sense of ethics. If someone views that as treachery, I don't really care. I usually tend to socialize with people who share my moral convictions.
Betrayal for selfish reasons and personal gain, that is something I detest with every fiber of my being.

Easy for you to say

And why is that ?
Have you betreyed someone and are now asking here for a vindication. If you're feeling guilty than you know what you did was wrong.
It is okay to make mistakes as long as you learn something from it.
If you did it for justified reasons, than don't worry. Those people who deserted you, didn't really knew you and weren't your friends to begin with. Loyality and friendship are two different things. Although first usually accompanies the second the opposite is not always the case.

because you just brush them off

True friends love you as you are, they know you well and already know how you're gonna react in certain situations. If you stay true to yourself, they're not gonna get offended by anything you do.
That is of course, if you're not a jerk by nature, but I don't see how somebody can be a real friend with such a person.

it totally depends on the context. would I have trouble with a terrorist who's seen as a traitor by his fellow terrorist for giving out the plans to the government?

That would depend actually on the reason his treason, if he did it just for money or some other low reason he's be no better than any other kind of traitor, if he his conscience awoke and started feeling guilty for taking others lives, then he's not exactly a traitor, but that all is a little irrelevant
The way I feel about traitors is that they can't be trusted, simple.

Isn't a terrorist a traitor for giving up information? and Isn't said terrorist also making peoples(Specifically his Terrorist friends) life's difficult for no reason?

Treachery is inexcusable.

It is, but I was merely expressing the situation on how I feel about it. I wouldn't really care if a terrorist would give up information because it could save lives of others. I mean to say that, if someone is a traitor for a good cause, it isn't all too bad.

This just puts the discussion up for what is "good" and "bad", which is purely an opinion and totally subjective.
