Let's look at some facts we do know Gedo Mazo and Hasirama:
It has nine eyes. The only powerful thing in the naruto universe that represent’s 9 is the bijuu’s also when a bijuu is sealed into the Gedo Mazo the a change occurs and the eye of the Gedo mazo opens. Combining these two facts I think it is fair to say that the Gedo was created to seal the bijuu’s and harness it’s power.
It sits on top of a flower. The only powerful tech out there that involves a flower is hashirama’s tree world.
It seems to be some sort of statue in either wood form or made out of some strong wood with branches coming out its back. Once again the only power techs I know that involve wood are hashirama’s.
It was said hashirama had several tailed beast under his control. But the question is how? Even if you defeat them and capture them where can you store them. It’s either you become a jinjurki for them all or you literally keep them imprison out in the open. But where is the space for all that? The only place I can think of where to hold several bijuu’s at once is the Gedo Mazo. Also he couldn’t put them in anyone like his wife for example because that means you can’t take them out without the host dying.
Funny after all these clues of hashirama when we get to the bottom of the flower we see a second hashirama that was grown from hashirama’s living tissue but with no mind of it’s own.
I don’t want this thread to be too long so I will cut to the chase. I think Gedo mazo was a creation by Hashirama notice I say creation and not summon. Of course with this I believe he was able to summon it but I think it was actually created by him due to the Gedo mazo looking as if it was made out of wood and branches coming out is back as if it was grown somehow.
I also believe Gedo mazo is how hashirama was able to fight perfect susano the size of them are almost the same and madara has made references about the tailed beast and perfect susano. The tailed beast being able to be sealed in Gedo mazo is a way they could combine strength and fight against perfect susano. Also they can be released without the host dying.

After research I have not read anywhere it is a rinnegan tech. Show me the page number of this because even on narutowikia it said it was a personal summon of tobi and nagato but think who's eyes tobi's and nagato's rinnegan belong to and read post #8 #10 and #12 before you reply.
