Personality
Shunsui is a laid back and flamboyant man, evident in his style of dress and general attitude, and he is rarely seen without a smile. In his off time, he often drinks sake in bars and naps. Kyōraku is a peace-loving man who will always try to talk his way out of a fight, though he doesn't wish to insult opponents by refusing to fight. The slightly eccentric Shunsui also seems to like making an impression on opponents. Though Shunsui tries to talk his way out of a fight, he does insist on fighting when the situation is grave.
He maintains a level of honor and integrity when engaging in battle. He refuses to fight with children or even in the presence of a child. He always maintains a semblance of respect for his opponent and is polite in combat situations and prefers to fight one on one. Even when fighting powerful opponents, he rarely loses his cool, going as far as to make small talk and joke around with his opponents.

Background Information
History
Almost Fifty years ago Shunsui was born into the Hyuuga clan. He did not know his father or mother as they had both been killed defending their village during an attack on the Hyuuga clans residence. So Shunsui was brought up in his cousins house, his cousin was a member of the branch house whilst Shunsui was part of the main house. But as a young child Shunsui did not know of the different roles within the clan and how he was 3rd in line to become head of the clan. Despite all of this Shunsui had a relatively happy but sheltered childhood, enjoying life within the clan and not knowing the pressures of the outside world. As Shunsui was getting older one of the senior clan members approached him and told him that he would teach him the ways of the Hyuuga clan. Shunsui agreed to train under this man and he taught Shunsui how to use his Byakugan effectively as well as training him in Jyuken which Shunsui took to quite well and mastered the art within a month and spent allot of the remainder of his childhood relaxing in his clans territory.
At the age of thirteen Shunsui enrolled in the ninja academy within Konoha and on the first day he attended the academy he impressed the whole class with his mastery of his clans techniques as well as all the instructors. Whilst Shunsui was in the academy he gained great respect from all his peers but he did not involve himself with them much, spending allot of his time lying under trees watching clouds. But one day a young girl from the academy sought out Shunsui, wanting to learn about this young boy who commanded great respect and find out what makes him tick. This girl's name was Nanao and she caught Shunsui's heart, turning into one of the old thing Shunsui cares about. Shunsui then spent the rest of his childhood with Nanao and conveniently enough they both ended up on the same team upon graduating from the ninja academy.
Whilst on an A rank mission to guard a very important member of the Fire Country government Shunsui and Nanao found them selves in a sticky situation, where they were surrounded by countless amounts of enemy ninja who had stormed the mansion they were defending. In the intense conflict Shunsui and Nanao got separated. Shunsui realised that Nanao was not by his side and became worried, so he activated his Byakugan and scanned the area for any signs on Nanao. He found her, so he fought his was over to her and found her lying on the floor seriously wounded. Scared for her life he valiantly fought, killing all of the enemy shinobi around with his two katana and his mastery over Jyuken. After defeating all his advisories he quickly made his way over to Nanao who was at deaths door, lying in a fatal condition. Shunsui was devastated and did all he could to help Nanao, but it wasn't enough. Nanao died on that day leaving Shunsui with one thing to remind him of her and this was her floral kimono. From that day Shunsui constantly wore that floral kimono as a reminder of his darling Nanao and making a art of her live on with him.
After several years passed Shunsui felt the need to leave his village and explore the world. With that he left the village of Konohagakure for his journey around the world.
While on the road Shunsui met many interesting people, these people taught Shunsui the tools of his trade. The first of these interesting was Wesobi, who Shunsui met at Capital River near the border of Wind Country. Wesobi taught Shunsui the art of Ninjutsu, teaching him advanced techniques that would serve him greatly in the future. Shunsui spent just under a month training under Wesobi until he mastered Ninjutsu and the two men parted ways, Shunsui went north to Earth Country and Wesobi went south to his village, Suna. On the journey north Shunsui met a young Kunoichi who goes by the name of Leaf (or currently Nemo) on the outskirts of Iwa, Leaf took a liking to Shunsui and decided to teach him some important skills. She taught him how to use wind jutsu at their finest, and after several weeks of training Leaf had taught Shunsui all she knew about wind, then as a departing gift she gave Shunsui a war fan to help him with his wind jutsu.
After training with Leaf Shunsui travelled east, where he met a man by the name of Teno. Teno was a loud outgoing man who took it upon himself to teach Shunsui how to control lightning and how to create his own lightning. Shunsui trained with Shunsui for two weeks until they completed training, Shunsui was shocked when Teno said to him that they were done as all his previous training sessions had lasted at least a month. Before parting ways Teno told Shunsui to sign a scroll with his blood and then form a string of five handseals. Shunsui did this and after he formed the handseals a large bird appeared before him, Teno told him that this was his bird and that as a parting gift Shunsui was now able to summon Lesser Birds of Paradise.
Shunsui continued east by foot until he realised that he now had the ability to summon birds. Feeling slightly stupid Shunsui bit his thumb and formed five handseals, after slamming his hand on the floor Shunsui looked up to see a majestic bird circling above him. This bird landed in front of Shunsui and introduced himself as Aiolos. Shunsui and Aiolos then became good friends travelling across the land together.
One day Shunsui was travelling on Aiolos when he saw a small hot spring. Shunsui felt he deserved a little down time so he checked into the hotel at the hot springs. After several days of relaxation Shunsui met a vibrant young woman, this young woman went by the name of Lili and for the remainder of their stay at the hot springs Lili taught Shunsui water jutsu, using the hot springs as their training ground. After a week of training Lili told Shunsui it was time for her to leave. This somewhat saddened Shunsui as he was greatly enjoying his training under Lili and her company. Lili told Shunsui that if he wanted he could return with her to the Water Country and join the village she is a part of, Kiri. Shunsui accepted this offer and travelled to Kiri with Lili, finishing his water training on the journey. Upon arriving at Kiri Shunsui was shocked to find out that Lili was the Head Tactician of Kiri and worked directly under the Mizukage.
Shunsui joined Kiri and after a few weeks of living in Kiri and doing his shinobi duties he men a lively man in a tavern. This man's name was Migualon J.J., the two came about speaking when Shunsui accidently knocked Mig's sake bottle over and broken it. Mig angered by this challenged Shunsui to a battle, while Shunsui was reluctant at first and tried to talk his way out of it he realised that it was no good and accepted Mig's challenge. After a glorious battle between the two Kiri shinobi Mig decided he would teach Shunsui how to play with fire because the great skill he displayed in the fight. For the next two months Shunsui trained under Mig who was one of the senior sensei at Kiri and his Senpai Sharingdork. Shunsui mastered both earth and fire under the two and build strong bonds with them.
After training for the two months there was a village tournament that was held to try and build teamwork within the village and to determine strength within the ranks. For this tournament Shunsui partnered with a young man called Reborn, who he met at the same tavern where he may Mig. He caught Reborn trying to trick people into buying him drinks with the use of genjutsu. He took great interest in the man and decided to become his partner. Whilst they partook in the village tourney Reborn and Shunsui became good friends and build great teamwork, which shown as they fought their way through the tourney, getting all the way to the finals before they were defeated by the Admiral of Kiri Demosthenes and his brother The Doctor. After the tournament Shunsui returned to his normal shinobi life having gained new experiences and new friends
