its nice to see people are interested in Indian culture :D

but on the other hand, Indians adopt other cultures and forget their own. =/

This could be aimed directly at me for all I know. I'm far more British than I am Indian now. ._. (Also, your sig is creeping me out. >_> I get the feeling that could be aimed at me as well. =_=)

Anyway; Japanese and Korean cultures fascinate me~ and a few more actually, but ~_~ I won't go into those. People would get the impression I'm fascist. :|

Nah,
well i aiming at people who live in India and refuse indian culture.
They prefer pizzas and burgers over our traditional food, like pav bhaji, dal-chapati etc.

You know some of my friends are veg and some are non-veg as some are allowed to eat non -veg but some are not, according to their culture.

But still they go against their culture and eat non-veg.

And i don't like people killing innocent animals and eating them :p
But like 60% of world do it

I have always held a fascination for ancient Rome, and ancient Greek mythology, and I also am very interested in the feudal era in Japan.

Well, from my limited study, Roman and Greek mythology are generally the same myths under different names.

~

As for ancient cultures, I'd go for Mesopotamian culture for many reasons, one of which is that our myths are not always copied from other cultures. I don't think any culture has a myth of a Goddess chasing the man who humiliated her in Heaven and forcing him to come to Underworld and sleep with him for seven days non stop .-. Ereshkigal and Negal's myth.

Giglamesh's Epic tale seeking Immortality is once amusing piece, that's considered by many to be the best of ancient literature.

Modern Cultures, I have to say China. They still, despite communism and all the changes they've been through, adhere to Confucius' 2500 years old wisdom, but I cannot generalize, unfortunately.

Really? But the Hindu gods and hindu archetecture seem so original. Its hard to believe they adopted that from other cultures.

Im also really big on ancient rome, and the greek gods. Pretty much all greek related mythology.

Most of the mythology is ancient Greek, But as for the Roman part I was talking about the things that definitely happened, the rise and fall of the Roman empire and whatnot, it is truly fascinating once you start getting into it.

If anyone hasn't touched on them yet, all ancient mesopotamian culture is cool, a bit like a combination of the faith systems used in greece and egypt but of course much older than either one.

The Inca are really intereting too, i could go on lol

Saudi Arabia - For Makka and Medina. As rich as that.

England - The royalty culture and its history.

Indian - Bollywood culture and for the cultures diversity. And there are a number of dargahs I wanna visit.

Japanese - The language, and its mythology. Also anime/culture.

I'm also really fascinated in Roman and Greek Mythology but I'm not really fond to visit Italy or Greece.

lol Around Devas(gods) are just not stupid enough to insult a goddess in the first place. :p

I like to read about aancient cultures and mythologies from all around the world- that's what attracted me to the manga's like Naruto. Old mythologies being used to creat new ones.

Well, our Devas are very humanely flawed and I'm not sure how does that elevate them into the Deva title in the first place xD I just loved the twist from the usual 'god chases down an innocent maiden' that I've been plagued with in Greek myths, but I haven't researched the other mythologies much anyway so I could give a fair comparison.

That's true for India too. Indra is always worried that his throne could be given to someone else if someone proved themselves more worthy than him. That indicated that the Deva title could be acheived by men if they quailified for it at least in early concepts.
