Masashi Kishimoto: Naruto Manga Is ‘Moving Towards Its Climax’

In the midst of marking the 10th anniversary of the Naruto anime and promoting this summer’s movie Road to Ninja NARUTO the movie, NARUTO manga creator, Masashi Kishimoto, commented on his planned ending for the series.

In an article published in the Saturday evening edition of the Asahi Shimbun newspaper, Kishimoto revealed that Naruto “series is moving towards its climax” at its current point. He also added, “How the story will end has already been set in my mind, so the story is just ‘racing headlong in that direction.’”

Well this is nothing new. I’m not surprised if Naruto end in the next 2 or 3 chapters. Nah that’s exaggerated. But my point is it won’t take much longer until the ending comes, don’t you think?

This is supreme old! In the Naruto Manga Volume 47 which came out in 2009, he said in the Author's note that the plot development towards the final had been settled, and that he was drawing full steam ahead. This was back during Naruto vs. Pain. The manga has now continued for 3 years after that statement, so you never know.

You must admit that it was obviously going to continue for a while after Pain was defeated (plot holes, etc.). I feel like it will end in December or January.

Nah, the climax (Naruto vs Sasuke perhaps?) will happen in chapter 700 or so, then we will have another 100 chapters of some storyline and it will end on chapter 800. I still think we will have some time skip very soon (probably after the war), so in my opinion, I still think it's a long way to go.
Nobody knew there were going to be a whole new bad ass bad guys during the first series (with the exception of Itachi and Kisame), but then they (Akatsuki) suddenly appeared and took over after Oro was gone. I wouldn't be surprised if something similar happens later on.
