Power vs Plot

Power inflation should never be a substitute for a good and overall balanced plot and character development that is coherent and complete. It should only be supplementary, and supportive of the original plot, since its overuse results in consistencies.

The problem is that many people are very sensationalistic nowadays and judge things based on appearance over substance. Seeing a 300-feet tall Susanoo pleases them more so than the morals that are supposed to be portrayed over the story. It's just like what is happening to this over-commercialized world nowadays. Do people watch transformers for its plot? No, for its animation and visuals. And who are those who appreciate complexity and essence nowadays? Mostly grown-ups and not teenagers who emphasize superficiality over substance.

This is marketing in a nutshell. And the realism of life. Kishimoto has a choice to pick between 2 groups of people to please: (1) either complicated adults with refined mentality, or (2) mostly a youthful and yet to mature audience. Since the latter severely outnumbers the former, it would make logical sense for him to prioritize them over the former.

Not all adults are 'complicated'. Still, I get what you're saying. The war arc took a turn for the worse, and it continues to test my suspension of disbelief.

Thats not a bad thing. Action brings excitement, which is a great thing.

BTW, this is a Shonen manga, which means its directed for teenagers. Its not SUPPOSED to have a whole lot of thinking. Plus, Kishi has given us enough to think about.

Its you and the OP's own faults for coming to a manga made for action(you should have known that, its about ****ing NINJAS not scholars) and expecting stuff to think about. Its like going up to a cow for juice and criticizing it for only having milk.
