I'll start off by saying i'm obviously a Kiba-fan but I will try to keep this as un bias as possible.

Now basically what I see this coming down to is Jutsu clashes. Kiba is as fast as Lee (check the databooks if you don't beleive me), so he easily outclasses Shino in taijutsu (even without the addition of Akamaru as backup).

Given that they fight on the same team, both would have a good idea of how the other fights (although both have had minimal screen time so its hard to tell). Shino's main strategy is to encircle and then trap the foe with insects, using various clones as diversions.

On the other hand Kiba's sense of smell would be able to distinguish the difference between a bug clone and the real shino, so that is out of the question. Given that Kiba wouldn't want to be encircled since the chakra bugs would eat his chakra (and dispel his human-beast clone jutsu) he would have to go for a strong offense straight away. The way I see it is that if kiba can get a dynamic marking on shino (which he has the speed to do) then it is game over.

The rotation of the fang-wolf-fang would kill any and all bugs that get close so dispelling the transformation that way is out of the question. Since we haven't seen anything else from shino that pretty much means he is out of options. Therefore I give this matchup to Kiba.

Basically this comes down to whether Kiba can speed blitz shino to get a dynamic marking off. Since he has very high speed and the nose to pick out the real shino, I think he can do it. But this is based on the info we have now, and frankly both characters have been neglected in all of shippuden.

@OP I'll give it to Kiba high difficulty as he is much faster than Shino. Although Shino is smarter and might trick him, Kiba obviously has knowledge on Shino's strategies but would probably get outsmarted even then. Kiba also has better taijutsu and strength than Shino.

To further analyse this battle it would be wise to give us a location.

Yeah it did actually, it's just that Naruto henged into Akamaru after he was hit to fool Kiba. So he questioned his smell and said, "well if that's Akamaru this one has to be Naruto, idk how he smelled like Naruto but whatever *falcom punch*"

Yeah, I get you. Kiba would have to go all out in a full blitz, but Shino is an intelligent character. I really want more footage of everyone that has been neglected, but their potential is so limited compared to EMS, Bijuu, etc. :/ Kiba keeps Naruto as his rival, but I wonder if they will ever spar again. If I had to put a location, I would place them where they always train together (Kiba, Shino, and Hinata).

Shino all day. Kiba isn't exactly Shikamaru, he is easily tricked and beaten by Shino. Shino prolly has stink bugs, yeah, and Kiba's too attached to his dog he can be outsmarted-- if Naruto can do it, Shino can. They know each other's abilities, anyway, but Shino can do much more with that than Kiba can. Shino never lost btw.

Yeah he was regarded as pretty dumb, but still pulled off a more impressive intelligence feat than Shikamaru does on a regular basis.

Kiba basically IS a dog. he's loyal, and relies on instincts, but doesnt understand anything beyond thoes instincts, IMO kiba is a decent asset on a team but when hes alone he just embarrasses himself.

well if you look at it from the perspective of what their last major fights were vs kankuro and sakon respectively, and how kiba seems to have improved in tracking and fighting more than shino in part 2, kibas got a huge advantage.with akamaru, he goes into that giant headed dog technique, and uses his smell of the bugs to locate shino and pulverise him with gatsuga. game over
