1. kabuto had none of his edo tensei
2. kabuto was clearly stronger than both combined, as evidenced by itachi needing to save sasuke twice and sasuke having to do the same to itachi
3. itachi just happened to have a jutsu which doesn't affect the 5 senses but instead the mind, and which would only work on someone like kabuto. convenient much?
