The reason Danzo took Shisui's eye.

He tried to stop the Coup d'etat all by him self using KA.

The reason Danzo stopped him is because he was sure Shisui would fail reasons being; KA cannot control multiple people (From my knowledge) and even if he used KA to control the leader of the Coup d'etat, KA can easily be broken by the person realising they are being controlled, just like with Mifune.

If Shisui fails the following will happen, they will kill Shisui and they will realise the leaf knows about their Coup d'etat. Meaning it would be to late for the leaf to to wipe them out secretly and also to late for peace talks as this incident would cause the Coup d'etat to happen at that very moment.

Danzo didn't trust Shisui they same way he didn't trust naruto to handle pain, he thought Shisui would fail and cause what I said before in bold to happen.

Just like when Danzo killed that frog. He didn't trust naruto and thought naruto would fail and the Kyuubi would end up with the Akatsuki.

Do you agree this is the reason and is what Shisui meant by Danzo didn't trust him?

Somewhat agree. Also maybe because I think Danzo couldnt trust an Uchiha with an OP ability that could manipulate anyone in the favour of the Uchiha clan. It would also be an power advantage for Danzo with the possession of such technique. So bit of both Konoha's well being and personal reasons really.

Shisui betrayed Danzo. So Danzo probably planned on killing him and taking his eyes. His eyes would have went to waste if he just killed him.

I don't really think he betrayed danzo in anyway but I do believe he wanted his eyes anyway.

I wanted to add this but my threads are always to long, but I believe shisui defeated Danzo (and his anbu goons if he brought some). I think it was a tense battle and they only managed to obtain his right by but couldn't manage to kill him. Why else would he say "he will probably come back for my left eye"

But What I don't get is after this why was itachi cool about this, maybe he realised what shisui wanted to do was also impossible and he had bigger things to worry about like the Coup d'etat and also protecting the village and the uchiha name.

Yeaa i can see this happening, it also explains how Shisui escaped with one eye, instead of Danzo taking both.

nah. I think Danzo just wanted KA for himself. I think there is still more about the massacre we don't know. Like how Tobi said he last met with Danzo before it. I believe Itachi sn't lying but there was more going on that he didn't know about. KA could have solved things imo.

One possibilty is that as Shisui used his KA once already, one eye was useless for a while.... so danzo took the one that was still fuctional. But who knows . .

True but remember one thing danzo main goal is to do what is best for the leaf, we found this out after the battle with sasuke. If you re read todays chapter on pages 8 and 9 look how many times danzo says "protect the leaf". What ever danzo wants the end result is for the benefit of the leaf
