What if he disperses the sand all over the place, or puts it underground?

Sand is composed of thousands of separate grains. If you tried to transport the sand, you'd only transport a volume equal to the area of the tag x the diameter of a grain of sand. Also, Gaara could rip up the tag with his sand.

So in this scenario, he would then teleport into gaara's sand, allowing it to envelop him
and crush him?

And the sand that he is using to attack he can warp that sand away. Easy!

Gaara defeats minato in the desert 100% of the time. Out side the desrt its 50/50.

And yes i know he can change the enviorment, but it wouldnt be instant and minato isnt the type to sit and watch. haha

The biggest reason is because Minato can move
himself faster than the sand can protect Gaara.
We have seen a few character's that have actually
used brute strength or outstanding speed and on
Gaara, and they ended out on top. Not to mention
Minato is on a different kage lvl than Gaara.

You don't teleport right by the tag IIRC (or like touching the tag itself when you reach it). If I'm correct there is some distance between the teleport destination and the tag itself? I think what the OP is trying to do is create a parallel to Deidara's hidden bombs using FTG tags instead. We don't really know why Gaara couldn't sense the bombs in his sand, so it could be either:
1) Gaara senses the tags and takes time to remove them (IE he controls sealing tags in his sand)
2) He cannot sense the tags and might be open if he blocks an attack with that same sand.

Although if Minato summons Gamabunta and has him use toad oil on Gaara's sand, that has a possibility of working.

Of course but your be close enough unless your arms are just short as hell.
