You cant exclude nagato so you can just have the upper hand in this debate. His attack happened and thats all that matters. Do you think Konoha wouldve been taken down so easily by nagato if the uchiha were in possesion of it?

Itachi had a deal with Tobi and that's why Nagato could not attack the leaf before that.

It was his death that allowed it, meaning that he had taken the precautions to evade such a thing to happen.

And, the Uchiha's would have been extremely weakened, way to much to defeat Nagato

If Itachi never had left, he wouldn't have gotten Tostuka blade or Yata Mirror

If he hadn't sided with the leaf, he would have never helped Shisui, thus not getting MS

He would still had been sick and wouldn't have pushed himself so far, thus woulda been dead by then

Pretty slim since he wouldn't have been out of the village that much

He helped before he mission, but he had already sided with the leaf, he was acting as a double-agent for them after all

The illness could easily have been a degenerative thing he always had, or a genetic flaw.
