Can Kakuzu counter Tsukoyomi?

I was watching the old Kakuzu vs Kakashi fight and then this thought came in to mind,i thought i should take your opinion about it.

As we know that tsukoyomi is a very powerfull genjutsu and it can not be broken by normal means, in this genjutsu the caster traps his apponent in an illusionary world and can make him see\feel whatever he want's, and Itachi was so proficiant with it that he could control everything including the time and body mass,in his illusion.

Now if we look at the technique, it need's an eye contact to cast, and some degree of focus on the victim's mind ,to make him suffer, which Itachi did with Kakashi and sasuke.


Now if we see at Kakuzu's ability, he has 5 heart monster which can operate separately from his body, they can move on there own and they can attack without Kakuzu Guiding them.

This particular scene attracted my attention,

Here you can see that 3 of Kakuzu's hearts are rushing toward's him, and at this moment Kakuzu is technically dead, so he is not Manipuleting them, and they outsmarted Chouji in order to get to Kakuzu.

So my First Question here is, If Kakuzu is caught in the Tsukoyomi while his heart's are Detached from his body, will it Affect them too? (As long as i know they do not posses separate brain and soul so it should not be possible for them to get caught under Genjutsu).

And My second question is, While focusing on Tsukoyomi, if all the Heart's are attacking the caster (Itachi for example), Will he be able to maintain the Jutsu or he will have to let it go since the attack from all the hearts are very powerful.

The main question is, Can a user maintain Tsukoyomi while being hit by powerful outside attack's, or not?

Can this be a method to break Tsukoyomi? apart from Itachi's two conditions (Uchiha blood and family member).

Wow. Look at what Itachi stated about his Tsukuyomi. Kakuzu has none of the things you need to counter it. I don't care if he has 1,000,000 hearts, he'll still get raped by it.

Kakuzu's monster does not need him to function they can maneuver on there own, even if he is dead for a short period of time, what stops them from attacking the caster .


People read it again My Q is Can a user maintain the Jutsu while being hit by the outside attack?.

tsukuyomi is instantaneous , the damages occur in a moment but because of itachi's mastery of it he can manipulate the team stream in the illusion to make it feel like how ever long he decides, so to both questions i say no

-because in real time the genjutsu is cast and delivered in a moment , it wouldnt leave nearly enough of an opening for one of the masks to get an attack off on him without his awareness of it

-to restate, in real time tsukuyomi occurs in a moment, despite what the one receiving the jutsu feels or how they perceive time flow, thats all up to itachi discretion once its cast, there fore there really isnt time to break out of it because the effects of days of mental fatigue and strain are felt almost immediately after the jutsu is cast

becuase he controls not the heart but the black string like meterail around them with his kenjutsu that he stole from his village, he was edo so he was "dead" persay but in the process of regen. also if that was true when kakashi and naruto killed him his hearts would have kept on attacking

Tsukuyomi is completed in a second. Unless one of their attacks was 5 inches from him when it was cast, the jutsu would be completed before the attack connected.

The answer to the OP's question is: No - Kakuzu can not counter Itachi's genjutsu because he's dead. He was killed by Naruto. Way before this genjutsu was introduced.

that would not make it useless, kakuzu looks into itachi's eyes and he catches him in tsukuyomi and casts it, in that moment he could make 3 days pass in kakuzus mind, give him the kakashi treatment,a mild tsukuyomi at best, and as soon as that moment passes he can turn his attentions to the hearts, unless your saying the hearts will be attacking exactly when he decides to cast tsukuyomi, which i sincerely doubt, itachi is smart enough not to leave himself at an disadvantage , then kakuzu would just eat a tsukuyomi and the fight would continue

that said i agree that the severity of the tsukuyomi depends on itachis concentration, so it may not be used to the full extent of its capacity, but udnerstand tsukuyomis full capacity is death, by breaking the mind, anything less is not a useless just more convenient for an ongoing battle [edit] with multiple opponents

well time to end this thread........*itachis uses sasunoo shields him from all damage while casting his genjutsu* that was easy
