Danzo's Intentions?

Alright we know that Danzo had Hashi's cells and he also had Sharingans(many of them ). Was he trying to get the Rinnegan? Or was he just planning to use Izanagi which takes a Sharingan and Senju blood as Tobi told us(below). And how did Danzo even know about Izanagi?:shrug:
