Why? Because all evidence has pointed to Nagato being the strongest in the series. I'm not usually the kind of Naruto fan who goes around and debate power levels but honestly, Nagato or Pain or whatever you want to call him has been the strongest in the series so far.

I mean, just look at what he could do all by himself. It's absurd. Even AFTER destroying the entire village and battling Naruto with eight tails, he had enough power to almost control Naruto using his chakra alone AND then revive everyone he had killed.

While Madara is a beast, I doubt he could've done that by himself without some DNA stealing and being an EDO.

And I don't even like Nagato. I think he's just a whiny psychopath with a God-complex. Still, I'm trying to be objective about this whole thing.

Nagato was hit with Lariat when he started absorbing it and Preta path was a
ctually hit with the giant Rasengan before he started absorbing it(check it out 4 urself as I can't post links) if you stab him, he'll absorb the tip of the blade as Madara's Susanoo doesn't have Totsuka so it will be absorbed. EMS Madara in my opinion isn't a match for Madara as Susanoo and large fire techs can be absorbed until he either runs out of chakra or Nagato gets bored of stealing his chakra and kills him via Bansho Ten'n soul removal.
About Yata, it can only sheild one side of the crushing rocks, the other rocks will crush Itachi from behind and underneath the Susanoo.
